In my experience, the barn manager often shows horses that aren't ready to show so you won't make as much as you would hand entering.

Dawns, if you have horses to show and only show them when they are ready to make profit you will make money pretty quickly.

@Dawns, the best way to earn money is by showing and there isn't a quick way to get rich. This game is about patience and working towards your goals.
