Gemini Estate said: Hey yall So this is hear because of me I got called out today for bumping by Art thread When all I did was simply state the auction had a few days left for bids. I was told this wasn't allowed and is against HEE forum rules I've been doing art for almost 2 years And I've seen other arts constantly do this So my confusion why this an issue now And why it seems I was the one to get called out When all the other arts do the same thing
Was it by staff or only by a player? . Edit: I looked back in your post history and see where the incident occurred. I think this is still a good time for artists to be asking what does and does not qualify as bumping since the act of mentioning a few days left has been done by almost all of us for a very long while. :) Don't feel bad, this isn't all your fault. I did end up finding it, thank you for the link though! <3

Yeah, we need clearer rules about "bumping". It's way too broad and up to discretion now

Agreed. It needs to either be made an official feature so you can bump your thread once every X hours or days or whatever or it needs to be made more specific, in my opinion.

I feel like saying "bump" itself is a little pointless and weird, but posting an end reminder should be alright. This game has a growing art community, and if we can't pull it back to the surface once or twice with a reminder (not gluing it to the top of the list), it's going to consistently get a bid or two and then forgotten about until completion. That auction list moves so quickly, now.

Official feature as in a bump button haha, not permission to make a pointless "bump" post. I agree overall though. The auctions forum moves so fast that same day posts are pushed off by the end of the same day. All the current posts have responses within the last 24 hours.

I'd say within a couple of days then, instead of hours. :) Our current "bump" habits are done every couple of days to remind players that the auction is about to end, and purely to remind them it's ending. If we get a button for every few hours, it's going to constantly shift and be even more obnoxious, while not even reminding players of its existence lol

I have been doing art for over a year now and I have never been called out for "bumping" art auction threads. Often art auction threads get lost further down due to other people auctioning as well, especially with our art community growing as fast as it is recently. I feel like we should be allowed to for some extent whether its date reminders or thanking people. I dont think its fair otherwise. I agree with everyone above. I hope MODs get back to us and at least give us some sort of clarification. At this point if I can't get my post some sort of attention when it gets pushed down the the bottom of the page or even the 2nd page what is the point of me basically wasting my time to make a public auction piece to give people a chance to own my art if they happen to miss my limited spots in my tier 1 shop... Im just a bit confused on all of this at this point... Edited at February 8, 2024 09:33 PM by AestheticcEquine
