Alicia Ballard had never imagined she would have to leave her home, and yet here she was mucking out Cash's new stall at Willow Oak. It had been necessary despite her emotions. Her parents had made a point of how much money she was spending driving back and forth between the house and her college, and had ushered her to live closer to the campus. The saddlebred gelding peeked his head in from the run to catch a glimpse of all the new people. "Tryna sneek a peak, Cash?" she laughed. He responded with a nicker. Alicia tossed the last of the manure into the wheelbarrow, stood up straight, and placed a hand on her back. She turned to look at Jaden and Amy. "I'm Alicia," she called from the stall.

She busied herself with tacking up Adonis, occassionally handing him a sugar cube to keep him in a serene mood. Once she had the unique colored stallion tacked up, she carefully lifted the reins from where they rested on his withers before leading him away. The American Quarter Horse seemed to glare or flatten his ears at any of the horses he passed, his eyes widened ever so slightly; it was clear that even he had priorities. It was not long before they reached the indoor arena where Lorelai mounted him gently, urging him on in an energetic walk. She glanced around every few seconds to ensure they were alone, wanting to be undisturbed and not distracted. Lorelai never forgot how much responsibility she had now that her parents had gifted her Adonis out of all the horses they had back home; he was a champion in his own right, something she would never take for granted.
