I didn't see the 1x1 RP section oopsies! x3 Hiya! For anyone else who sees this, please don't post or add anything! Feel free to read though! Between me (Hades Hearth) and Oakwood Barn!
Basic overview is our characters were childhood friends, had a fight/fall out and they became enemies. Then on a school trip, they get lost in the wilderness. These characters are college (around freshman) aged!
Conflict between the characters (prior, happened around early highschool, they go to the same college): My character comes from a richer family than Oakwoods, and her characters parents didn't really like him. Originally, our characters didn't care until one-day Oakwoods character confronted mine about it an she got angry and blew up, taking their parents side which split the relationship.

Dirt poor. His dad was a big spender, burning all of the cash that fed their family and allowed them to live. Due to this, Jacksons mother, Gean, ended up divorcing Trention and taking Jackson with her. Due to this, Jackson grew up with an absent mother. He was often left with a cheap babysitter who didn't care. He got used to it eventually... Except, this didn't just go away. He grew up sparse, making sure he wasn't too hungry so his mom didn't have to spend a lot, making sure he didn't get dirty so he didn't have to get new clothes... He was seriously lacking in a lot. Until he met another girl who felt pity for him, she was certainly rich, and Jackson felt quite.... out of place, around her. But she didn't care. She gave him clothes when she noticed he didn't have anything, and gave him food when he couldn't eat. They became friends and it stayed that way for quite a long time. Until middle school. The girl's parents didn't like Jackson for being in such a poor family... And Jackson knew this and usually ignored it. Until he asked the girl why her family didn't like him. She snapped at him and he snapped back. Successfully crumbling their relationship. Jackson snapped back to the scarce life, lessening his food intake and his daily activity... His mother never did get back to being middle class. She began drinking herself to unconsciousness as well as becoming addicted to drvgs. Jackson had to start working at 14 just to make sure he could continue going to school... Though, he did eat less and less. By the time he was in his last year of high school, he missed a good week due to malnourishment. Though he did get out of the hospital, his ED did not get better. Now he's in his first year of college... still struggling and still worrying... He hoped this year would go on easy on him... maybe? *Theme Song(s): (WIP) Other: Edited at October 9, 2024 10:23 PM by Oakwood Barn

(Yes of course! Sorry I'm about to sleep but I can start, sorry if the font size is going to be weird, im typing on my phone ^^) Catherine Bennett The college was hosting a field trip for several classes, which included both Catherine and Jackson's classes. It was supposed to be for a few days, supposedly a more fun trip for the students in the midst of the school year. Catherine rummaged through her bag, making sure she had everything she could need last minute. Several pairs of extra clothes, toiletries, basic hygiene, emergency charging, a first aid kit, and a bunch of extra snacks and food and water because she was always on edge about everything. "Okay, I got that..and that.. I should be set." She murmured to herself,, zipping the backpack up and slinging it over her shoulder. She grabbed her keys, and everything else, setting out the door. The door was heavy, making a loud thud as it closed. She set off to the elevator, taking it down to the student union. There were a lot of people already there, including Jackson. None of her friends were going, so she was all alone, for now. She shuffled, awkwardly standing near the front of the group, near the chaperone with a sign. She threw headphones in, putting music on loudly while they waited to get everyone there before they would leave for the buses. Around ten minutes later, everyone who had signed up, was ready to go. They took attendance, and then grouped people into pairs just for safety and the buddy system. "Lindsey Freedmen and Sierra Willson, Jack Douglas and Kendal Dougherty," Catherine zoned out, until she heard her name being called, "Jackson Alex-Ren and Catherine Bennett." Hearing who she was paired with made her tense up. Her childhood best friend, who she had a fall out with. She wasn't sure how to feel about the whole scenario. Happy, confused, angry, sad. Maybe she could become friends again. She missed him, a lot, but she wasn't counting on anything. She walked over to where he was standing, awkwardly greeting him before looking away nervously, fiddling with her rings and necklace.

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson jolted awake at the loud smashing of a bottle. Ah... mom must be home. Which means it was timeto get ready for school and that field trip... Jackson scrambled up, grabbing his already packed bag off the ground and setting it on a table nearby. Jackson quickly shed his black sleeping pants and pulled on some jeans, a t-shirt, and his favorite black jacket, which was a bit big, but otherwise fit well. He tugged his bag close, hooking it over his shoulder an rubbing his eyes tiredly. He slipped out of his small room, walking through the living room he paused. Jackson's eyes trailed over his mom, who was on the couch, drinking and watching TV. He frowned, heart clenching. He hurried past her, going to the kitchen. He avoided even glancing at the fridge, instead reaching for a cabinet and leaning close. He used a key around his neck to unlock it. Jackson pulled out his phone, headphones, and charger from the cabinet, making sure to close and lock it once more. He put the headphones round his neck, phone in his jacket pocket, and charger in his bag. Jackson took another quick glance around before deciding to skip breakfast, making his way to the front door. ".... bye mum... love you." He mumbled quietly, grabbing a small pocket knife off of the small table by the door. Jackson quickly slipped out, closing the door behind him and locking it swiftly behind him. He straightened, turning and beginning toward school. He shoved his hand in his pocket, clenching it around the pocket knife... he didnt live in a safe neighborhood... maybe that's why he woke at the smallest of sounds. × Jackson arrived at the school and breathed out shakily, stepping inside and dropping hid eyes to the floor. He began weaving through the waves of students, murmuring many 'excuse me's' to get to the cafeteria... Jackson's eyes finally trailed up, lookingover the multiple chaperone signs, he noted the name of his and beelined to it. Noticing not many people had arrived, he pulled his headphones up, covering on ear with them and dropping his eyed back to his phone.... × Jackson jolted at the mention of his voice. "'Alex-Ren and Catherine Bennett." Said the voice. He felt his heart sink into the tips of his toes. He turned up hid music, trying not to reply as his ex-childhood friend greeted him. His thoughts were a pure mantra of: -Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.- He obeyed it. Nope. Jackson shoved his phone back into his pocket, looking around. Anywhere but at her would be good for him... (Me too 😭)

Catherine Bennett She grimaced at his blank reaction. Obviously she wasn't expecting him to be all happy and cheery responding to her, but him not responding even the slightest bit? That stung. She knew she messed up, but it wasn't just a one sided situation. She regretted taking her parents side that day, because she lost the one person who still cared for her. She didn't know why she had taken her parents side that day, all they'd do is neglect her. Nothing physical, but they'd always be home late, always have her take care of her siblings, things like that. "Look, Jackson-" she spoke in a quiet tone, "I'm not thrilled about this but, please, let's try not to cause a scene or have trouble, please. I'm sorry." With how engulfed he was with his own music, she wasn't sure if he heard her speak. Instead of trying to push more, she threw her headphones back on, taking a seat on the ground as the chaperones finished grouping pairs, and going over the rules. Standing, she already felt short, was short, especially being compared to Jackson. But sitting down, she felt even tinier, she felt almost inferior, like a stray cat lost in the midst of a big city. She curled her body up into her, hugging her knees against her chest, and resting her chin ontop of them, sitting in the fetal sitting position. Her eyes fluttered, threatening to shut as exhaustion filled her. She hadn't got much sleep the night before, being on a call with her younger sister to help her with homework, and with her parents to discuss anything about college. Their timezones were nearly opposites, so they hadn't taken into account how late she was up at. In fact, lately, she looked a lot more exhausted than usual, problems arising more at home not long after she left for college. Her phone buzzed suddenly, and she checked it. Her little sister had texted her, yet again. 'Hey sis, I'm sorry 2 bother but can you help me with this?' She had texted. It was her history homework, simple matching of Greek gods. A deep breath exhaled from Catherine's lips, it was not only early for them, but also her family. 'Sure, but why are you up so early? Call me.' She texted back. 'I forgot to do it.' Her sister simply responded. Her phone then began ringing, her sisters contact glowing on the screen. She answered, "Hey Sofia, what's the part you need help?" She asked, looking at the photo. "I need help with Hades, Poseidon, Dionysius, Hephaestus, and Apollo." "Looks like you didn't even start it.." she murmured in response, nearly dozing off. "Hades is the god of the underworld, Poseidon is of the sea, earthquakes, horses, and storms.. Dionysius is wine, nature, festivities, a few more things.. Hephaestus is fire, volcanoes, blacksmithing, and the arts. And Apollo is archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light, poetry, and more." Catherine finished speaking. After helping with anything else her sister needed, they were getting ready for the buses. Stumbling, she nearly fell forward getting up. She looked at Jackson, before following the rest of the group outside to where the buses were. Edited at October 10, 2024 06:41 AM by Hades Hearth

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson hesitated when Catherine spoke again. But he wanted to reply. He was going to- until she sat down and put her headphones in... right. Jackson's hand clenched around his phone and he looked away, staring intently at a mural on the school wall. He had no idea who painted it, but it was... okay. He supposed. Jackson looked down at Catherine as he heard her talking to someone. Oh... Sofia. Jackson just about flinched at the name. Catherines younger sister... Jackson hated this. Hated being here. How much was this even costing- no. No. They said it was free. Jackson's heart beat fast when the chaperones called for them to all begin loading. He began stepping forward and was promptly knocked into by Catherine... Just a great day. Jackson followed his group, walking with them to the large buses waiting for them. As they got on the bus, he paused to murmur to the bus driver. "How longs the drive...?" He asked quietly. She glanced at him and smiled. "About eight hours, darlin." She said kindly, country accent shining. Jackson nodded, though a pit of nausea was forming in his stomach as he made his way to the back of the bus. He sat in the row right before the back and scooted close to the window. He leaned up against it, pulling hid long legs up and resting his feet on the edge of the seat. His mind was racing with worrying thoughts as his nausea got worse. What if mum dies? What if she overdoses? What if there is a fire? What if she hurt? What if she passes out and hits her head? What if someone breaks in? Fuck... he was glad he had skipped breakfast. Again. Jackson clamped his eyes shut, trying to ignore the nausea in his stomach and the worry in his mind. And to top it all off he was paired with Catherine... of course it had to be his ex best friend... not one of the people who wouldn't give Jackson the time of day and he has no... history with... But no... Fate despises him.

Catherine Bennett Partners were forced to sit with each other, so she had to sit next to Jackson. She gave him a little space, trying not to invade it. Her hands were shaky, as she took a deep breath, taking her headphones out. "Jackson- sorry I shouldn't have put my headphones in right away..I've just been, well..exhausted lately, haven't been thinking or processing anything. I'm sorry- uh how are you?" She facepalmed internally. She had a horrible habit of over apologizing or saying sorry even if she didn't need to. However she felt like she needed to apologize, for something on a deeper level. She blamed mostly herself for their fall out, and she felt horrible, loosing all those years of friendship over it. She was incredibly unsure on how he felt about it, the whole situation. Unsure about how to approach him. She didn't think they'd be able to rekindle their friendship, but she wanted to try. Her phone wouldn't stop buzzing in her hand, her parents asking about the field trip, and things about her coming back for the upcoming weekend because they, yet again, needed help. *dammit..i can't do this any longer.* she thought, thinking about having to fly back just for a few days because her parents both would be super busy, and needed help at home. It was draining, She had too much work, and everything was piling up on her. She took a deep breath, waiting for his response, and praying he would say something, "Look, this is, random, and i don't know how you feel, and I know it won't make you feel that much better but-" she paused, thinking of what to say before speaking, "I'm sorry about, what happened, with my parents, and us- i was stupid. I shouldn't have took their side. I'm sorry." Her voice was pretty quiet and soft as she spoke, looking away. She knew apologizing wouldn't fix everything right away, but it would be the best thing to do at the moment, at least. Or so she hoped.

Jackson Alex-Ren ~----------------------~ Jackson shrunk into himself when Catherine began talking to him. It hurt to have her anywhere near him... They had successfully avoided each other for all the rest of middle school and high school... how come she was apologizing now? It made the nausea in his stomach dizzying... He gulped. "'it's fine..." He muttered. However, she really didn't know how things were going. She didn't know about his mom, or his... problems, with food, or his money problems... Or anything really... He pulled out his phone, unlocked the old device, and scrolled through his music. He had the free plan on Spotify... And a really old phone... the cracks throughout it were certainly a show of that. He clicked on 'Sweater Weather' to listen to and quickly turned off his phone to reserve phone life. Jacksons eyes were glued outside, avoiding looking at Catherine. He didn't know how to respond... or talk to her. Actually, he didn't really know how to talk to anyone... Well, that's also a lie. He knew how to talk to people... But only when he was using them. He frowned, staring out the window of the bus as it began to move... Eight hours until they got to the cabins. And of course, Jackson felt sick. At least he hadn't eaten anything this morning. Which... actually isn't too unusual. (Sorry it's short) Edited at October 10, 2024 02:27 PM by Oakwood Barn
