Full Name: Elaine Rose Nixon Nickname(Optional): Rose, Rosie, Aine Gender: Female Age: 18 Appearance: Elaine is about five foot seven and 110 lbs. She is slim, but well muscled from all of her years working on a ranch. Also, she is somewhat tan. Her dark brown hair falls in thick waves down past her shoulders and her eyes are a steely blue. Personality: Elaine Rose Boman is a quiet young woman of eighteen. She doesn't talk a lot, even to those in the stables. When she talks, she is very sweet and caring, unless you make her mad. If you make her mad, she would rather shoot you than look at you. Though, she would never actually do that. Its just that she would prefer to do that. Besides this, Elaine is a calm, quiet young woman who mostly keep to herself and those few friends she has via the stables. Parents/Family: NPCs Significant Other: n/a Crush: n/a, open Backstory: Elaine grew up on a ranch with thousands of acres. When she was little, she would play with the dog and go riding with her mother. Until she was three years old, Elaine would ride in front of her mother in the saddle on her mother's Quarter Horse gelding. Usually, they would be in an English saddle, as her mother was an English rider. Elaine's father however, was a ranch man and had rode Western all his life. When Elaine rode with him in her first couple of years, they would be in a big Western saddle so she would fit in front of him. But, she almost always was riding with her mother. At three years old, Elaine got an old Quarter Horse mare for her birthday. As she was used to being on a bigger horse, her parents didn't bother with a pony. Her father would have preferred Elaine have a pony at first, but her mother insisted. So, she got an old bay mare for her first mount. Elaine's father would lead her around bareback on the mare and her mother took her out on short rides, ponying her under a Western saddle so Elaine could hold on. But as Elaine got older, her mare also got older. When they had gotten the mare, she had already been in her twenties. A few months after Elaine turned six, her old mare fell ill and died in the night. When her parents told her about her mare, the little girl was heartbroken.
When Elaine was eleven, she got a surprise when she got home after school one day. There was a terrified, blind mare in one of the corrals on the ranch. The mare screamed and bolted at every noise, ramming herself into the fence millions of times. Elaine was devastated at the sight of this poor animal. When she asked her mother and father about the mare, they said that she was a rescue. Elaine's face fell each time she saw the poor mare and she soon developed an idea. she knew her parents would consider her idea dangerous, so she kept it to herself. Then, she began. Every night, she would sneak out to the corral where the mare was kept and she would talk to her. She would tell the mare about her day, about what she had accomplished, problems at school, anything she could think of. For the first two months, the mare spooked and bolted at the sound of the girl's footsteps and voice. But after those two months, the mare began to trust the voice and soft footsteps she heard every night. Slowly, the mare began to trust Elaine. Once Elaine could greet the mare and use any voice she wanted, the young girl crawled through the fence rails and talked to the mare form inside the corral. Every so often, Elaine would get closer and closer. But she always made sure the mare knew exactly where she was by using her voice all the time. After a year of doing this secret night bonding with the mare, she was able to walk up to the mare and touch her all over, even slip a spare halter onto the horse's head -even though it was too big for the mare. Elaine worked hard that first year with the mare. Then, she told her parents she was going to work with her. Her parents thought it a bad idea because they couldn't even get close to the corral without the mare freaking out. When Elaine was alone after that conversation, she smiled. Her parent's had no idea. And so, Elaine began working with the mare in daylight. Her parents were watching her from the barn one day and were about to yell at her to not go into the corral, when the blind mare trotted slowly over the Elaine and let her put the halter on. Elaine had been working slowly with leading, too. With a click of her tongue and the word "walk," she led the mare around the edge of the corral as she had been doing for a few days. She had figured it would help the mare figure out her boundaries so she quit running into the fence. Elaine had been correct. With more walking the boundaries, the mare stopped running into the fence. About a year and a half after Elaine had began working with the mare, she led the mare out of the corral and put her in the pasture. Elaine had decided on the name Savior's Grace for the mare, and she called her Grace for short. By age sixteen, Elaine was riding Grace bareback and teaching her simple dressage. Grace was a smart horse and her blindness did not slow her too much. She was more cautious and still a little spooky, but the mare trusted Elaine to keep her safe and that meant the world the Elaine.
At the age of seventeen, she saved a small filly from a slaughterhouse, a little yearling. Elaine has named the filly Little Warrior or Artemis for short. She has slowly gained her trust, and the filly finds a role model in Grace. Full Name: Liam Emmett Gallios Nickname (Optional): Emmett, Gally Gender: Male Age: 28 Appearance: Personality: This young man is a kind soul who helps any who needs it. He grew up around horses and has always ridden English style. His past riding experiences include studying dressage in Germany and Spain, show jumping in England and Ireland, racing in the U.S., endurance in the deserts of Arabia, and cross country in several of the mentioned countries. obviously, his family has a lot of money. Liam has been sent all over the world to study horsemanship and riding. He is extremely talented, but always holds to the belief that there is always room for improvement. He and his stallion still have bad days and he still falls.
But, this young man is extremely knowledgeable in the study of equine and English riding. Despite his vast array of knowledge, he is extremely humble and hates when people bring up his past experiences. Parents/Family: Somewhere, likely travelling the world Significant Other: Katie Crush: N/A, loyal to Katie Backstory: Liam has had the same horse since he was five years old. His father's prized mare birthed a beautiful bright bay colt with coal black points and a thick white blaze. At five years old, liam fell in love with the baby horse and his parents couldn't keep him out of the stall. The young boy spent all the time he could in that stall with mare and foal and then went out and played in the pasture with the little colt. Originally, his father had wanted to use the new colt as a breeding prospect, but as Liam and the colt got older, his father could see they were made for each other. And so, Liam was allowed to continue playing with the colt. There were times when the boy's mother feared for him because the colt was growing into a fine young stallion, but the horse never showed any aggression toward Liam. When Liam was eight and the colt three, the young boy had begun calling him "riot" and the beautiful young stallion would come to Liam whenever he called. However, any other people that tried to catch him would be unsuccessful. Liam was the only one who could ever catch Riot. Liam is the only one who has ever handled or ridden Riot and this begun when he was eight. The boy started putting light saddles and things on Riot's back and then once when his parents weren't watching, he climbed up onto the stallion's back. Riot was used the boy and only slightly tensed, then relaxed and listened to the boy on his back. They truly have an amazing bond, these two.
They had many adventures in life so far. When Liam turned ten and his stallion was five, his father sent him to Europe. Liam spent five years traveling in Europe with his stallion from age ten to age fifteen. He stayed at boarding schools so he would not fall behind in school. In Europe, Liam and Riot learned to compete in show jumping, cross country, and dressage. Then he returned home to the U.S and his father had him learn to be a jockey, letting him run his stallion in little races. He never won, of course, but he still enjoyed it. At seventeen, he was allowed to compete in endurance in Arabian deserts. He was allowed to use his stallion in shorter races, but he also got the chance to ride purebred Arabian horses as well. But in the end, he always returns to his beloved stallion. Now, at age nineteen, he has continued learning and working with horses. Rebel is his second horse, one passed on to him from his father. A m i r a . S c a r l e t t e . G r e y . . . name. Amira Scarlette Grey. alias. Amira, Scarlette gender. Female age. Nineteen birthdate. December 21 personality. Mira may seem like a sweet, friendly girl, but she is quite closed off. She never shares her true feelings. This young woman always has a smile plastered to her face, even if she's dying inside; even if she's in tears, she'll insist that she is fine. She also has somewhat of a temper when she is challenged and if she backs down you'll know -she shuts down and walks away. But beware, for if you bring up the subject again, she might explode or possibly, she just won't acknowledge you. The only thing keeping her from going insane and falling apart are her horses. They keep her from giving in to the demons inside. She tries her best to keep track of her horses' limits, but sometimes she forgets, if only for a moment. Her horses do well to remind her though. She'd do anything for her horses as they are her life. horses. history. Amira was born in Northern Ireland and her family moved to the U.S. when she was a month old. They had had horses in Ireland but wanted a taste of America so they moved there, going through the quarantines for their animals, not willing to leave them behind. Amira grew up on the ranch in America, but still held onto the Irish accent she was born to have. Her accent is quite audible for the most part, but she can hide it if she wants. Mira started riding before she was a year old and had her first hooded when she was three. When she was five, she started jumping and fell in love with the sport. She loves all types of riding but her favorite is jumping bareback. Well, anything bareback. The way she learned to ride was she had to walk, trot, and canter bareback without holding on. Because of this, her balance is excellent. This helps her a lot in jumping. When she turned ten, Amira's dad bought her Matty. He helped her train him at the beginning, but the rest was up to her. She was homeschooled, so she had plenty of time to work with him. She worked with him every day for three hours. One hour, they would work on ground work, the second would be for desensitizing, and the last would be riding bareback and on some days with saddle. She jumped him every other day, usually bareback, and then started jumping him under saddle. By the time she was fifteen, they were jumping four feet and now, they can almost jump Olympic heights. They still knock poles down sometimes of course, but they are pretty good. When Amira was twelve, she got Mateo. He was quite disrespectful and misbehaved a lot. But she worked with him as much as she could and now he is a decent horse. If anyone tries to ride him, he can be kind of a pest if you don't know what you're doing. Of course, Amira won't let anyone else ride her horses, but there are those who don't follow the rules. And Cobalt she got when she was sixteen, after her dad passed away. That may be a key bit of information there. Her mother left her father when she was eleven and she hasn't seen her since. Not even after her dad died. When her dad was in the hospital after a riding accident he had, she refused to be sent away and she begged and pleaded with her father to sign papers saying she was legally allowed to be on her own. She promised she would keep up with her schoolwork and swore she would work more hours and that she would be able to keep the ranch. Finally, he signed the papers. He passed away two days later with Amira by his side. And so, she was alone. She worked from five am to five in the evening and spent whatever time she had left over with her horses. She bought Cobalt at an auction at sixteen and worked with him, still working long hours to pay for her home. When she turned eighteen, she trained a couple horses for her neighbors and earned some extra cash. She used this to buy new tack for her horses and now, she has come here to compete and she hopes to reach the top. H o r s e s name. Devil's Execution barn name. Mateo gender. Gelding age. 20 breed. Peruvian Paso Here personality. Mateo is retired. Not that he was ever shown anyway. He was a rescue and at the beginning, he was a very disrespectful and disobedient. But after Amira worked with him and started riding him, he got better. He can't be ridden by anyone else when Amira is not around, but he leads fine. He does bite on occasion, but not if you know how to handle him. He eats and chews on everything he can get to, so if anything is left hanging on his stall, it probably won't be there in the morning. That, or it just won't be usable anymore. He can he pain sometimes, but other times he behaves quite nicely. name. Nights of Azure barn name. Cobalt gender. Stallion age. 10 personality. He was used as a lesson horse at one point, so he can get sour sometimes. He is absolutely terrible on the ground and unless he is really feeling relaxed and cooperative, he refuses to stand still. But once your in the saddle, he is great. Well, most of the time. If he doesn't know the area he can be spooky, but once he knows nothing is going to eat him, he does alright. He is an amazing jumper, but once again, a bit spooky if he doesn't know the course. Amira is trying to get him over it and hopefully she can succeed. name. Mad Hatter barn name. Matty gender. Stallion age. 12 breed. KWPN Paint cross Here personality. Mira got him when he was three and she was ten. She had her dad's help training him to jump and then she worked alone with him for the rest of the years. He is an absolutely wonderful jumper, but only under her hands. No one else has every ridden him or worked with him. Sure, you can halter him and lead him around, but the second you tie him up or he sees you come toward him with any tack, he isn't so friendly. Amira didn't know this until only a few years ago, but one of the ranch hands used to beat him and tie him up tight, then tack him up and try to ride him. He was a little wrong in the head, let's just say that. Now thanks to that, Amira is the only one who can tie him up or put any tack on him. Now, he won't attack if he just sees someone walk by with tack. He usually pins himself against the back of his stall, ears pinned in fear. But if they come into his stall with a bridle or saddle or even a bareback pad, he gets aggressive, but that's just because he is frightened. There is a big sign on his stall that tells people that the only thing they are allowed to take into his stall is a halter. When he sees a halter, he can get a bit nervous at first if he has never seen the person before, but that usually just consists of him shaking or his eyes showing a bit of white. Once the halter is on, he will walk right beside his leader as if he were a veteran showmanship horse. As long as no one tries to tie him up, he is quite well behaved. He is used to seeing tack in the isle ways and being put on other horses, but it still spooks him a bit. He either speeds up, stops dead, or starts prancing. When he stops, the words "walk on" will get him moving but he may be little speedy or he may dance or shake. But, being the good horse Amira taught him to be, he doesn't bolt or do anything dangerous when being led. The sign on his stall door reads "do not tie me up and do not bring me tack at any time" and as long as people heed the sign, he does just fine. If needed, he can be tied up, but he will likely become restless and nervous. But, as long as no tack is involved, he will not be a threat. Edited at October 27, 2024 12:26 PM by Diamond
