Flare leaned into Diablo and closed her eyes. Her breathing deepened. She began to relax. "please don't leave." she whispered. Then she fell asleep.

Diablo was at a *big as the mariana trench* loss on what to do at this point... so he just kept his arms wrapped around Flare, glad she had calmed down. "I won't. I won't leave you." He answered almost instincively, sighing a little as she fell asleep. Rex looked at Diablo and tilted his head, then promptly laid down and fell asleep as well.

Flare woke up as the sun began to rise. Diablo's arms were still wrapped around her. "thanks for staying," she whispered

There was no way Diablo was going to fall asleep, even though he was exhausted. He sat there on the bed through the rest of the night, staring out the window or looking at Rex or doing crossword puzzles in his mind or... something to keep him awake. Making up song lyrics. Thinking about his miserable life. When Flare spoke, it startled him since he was pretty caught up in, at that point, reciting the ABC's backwords. He twitched a little, but then realized she must be awake. "Oh- yeah. Of course." Diablo answered, pulling away a little now that she was awake. "Feel better?" He asked tenatively

Flare sighed "yeah, but why can't i just wake up with amneisa and forget oh everything."

Diablo furrowed his eyebrows a little, trying not to look pitiful. "Well you wouldn't want to forget me, right?" He joked half-heartedly. "Let's just focus on not getting caught again. Ok, caught for you and caught again for me. Everything will be okay." Diablo announced with a small smile. Rex lifted his head and gave a small woof, looking at the door.

Flare's ex-husband stormed in carrying a gun, which he promptly shot at flare. The bullet hit her stomache and she gasped falling to the ground blood soaking her hand. "well, well, well, trying to replace me Flare?" her ex-husband seethed as Flare gasped for breath.

Diablo's eyes widened at the sudden slamming of the door. He tried to push Flare out of the way, but then a shot fired. It grazed over his hands, causing a red streak of painful, burned skin, and hit Flare. -No no no- Diablo thought, but then he went into fighting mode. In a snap second he flew at the guy and knocked the gun out of his hands. "You want to fight!? How are you with hand-to-hand combat, scaredy cat." Diablo spat, drawing his hand back and slamming it into the guy's face so hard he heard a crack. "You are never going to bother Flare again! I don't understand you people! Why is it always kill kill fight fight! Have you EVER thought about TALKING or maybe PUNCHING INSTEAD OF SHOOTING!?" Diablo roared in anger, dodging each flailing punch the man sent at him perfectly. Having been in the army he was trained for this, and now he was feuled by anger. Diablo stopped when the man staggered back, looking like he was about to fall... then a ginormous dark shape flew threw the air and landed on the guy's chest. He tumbled to the ground like a stack of bricks, completely knocked out. Not dead, definitely not dead. Rex turned around and sat on the guy, panting happily. Diablo whirled and quickly ran to Flare,

Jessica sat in her office doing paperwork. Her phone rang. The caller I.D read Director.

"It's fine I was just doing paperwork. What's up now?"

"well that guy you put in prison got out. But he had help. We need you to track him down and find out who helped him get away. I hope you realize how dangerous this guy is we need him back in prison ASAP. You got that Harper?"

"yes sir I'll start on it right away."

"good and I'll give you an extension on that paperwork."

"alright bye." Jessica hung up and screamed in frustration.

Flare gasped trying to force air into her lungs."h-hhelp p-please" she gasped practicly choking on her own words, her voice was nothing more than a pained whisper. Blood was pooling up by her side and running from her mouth.
