"Do you want to talk about last night?" He asks as he swung up onto Treasure, "Or not? Either way, please explain your hostility and hate toward me. Please?" He clicked to Treasure, and the two pairs walked out of the barn together. "I really do like you for who you are. You seem daring and beautiful. You're also brave and funny. I love that about you, not your fame or your skill or your horses. I love you." He rode on in silence. Will she talk to me? I hope so. I will do anything I can to get her.

Elaine had mixed feelings about telling him. She took a deep breath befoer speaking, "Don't lie to me, it's the fame that makes you interested" she says, avoiding his gaze, mounting Grace. "Besides, you don't know me and I don't know you" she adds.

"I mean, it's cool. But, I want a girl who will do anything for anyone. Someone who will hold me tight in times of need, who will go out with me for fun and not just because she was asked, and a girl who will stay by my side forever. I think you would be the perfect girl. Shit, I don't care if you had no clue what you were doing when you ride. I think it's cool and awesome that you have national titles, but you don't need them to be mine." He gazed into her eyes, beaming his heart out. "You're beautiful and don't even try to deny it. I love you. Now, would you be my girlfriend? Just give me a chance?"

Jack laughed, finally happy. "C'mon, love! You've almost beat me!" He spurred Treasure faster, but Grace matched him stride for stride. Elaine was smiling, and Jack glanced at her, completely trusting her horse to not hurt her. He let go of the reins and raised his arms, laughing in pure joy.
