Lily jumped at the other stallion's outburst, but calmed herself enough to answer. "Well I... I just... I'm leaving with West, so do what you want to. We-" Lily glanced at West, "I won't question it. Just no more fighting. At least not with me in the middle." Lily turned to go with West.

(Chaos' POV): "you will not leave!" Chaos thundered angrily (West's POV): West hated to do this. He really did. Every instinct in his being said to whirl around and smash that stupid stallions head in. Yet he listened to Lily, which was just about impossible. He broke off in a Trot, heading down the hill and towards the plains and the small stream that he had rested at the last few days. When West got there he stopped, still looking a little angry... and a tiny bit ashamed.

Lily held back from shouting back at Chaos. "Come on, West. Let's get out of here." Lily glanced back at Chaos.

"Good idea." West muttered under his breath, walking along the stream until he got to a tall oak. If the stallion followed them West would bash his head in, but for now he would hold off. Gah, why did he always think like that? -Stop being like a stupid young stallion and use your brain for more than a second- West thought grumpily. "I really am sorry for fighting, Lily, I just overreacted." West finally said with a sigh

Lily nuzzled West. "It's okay. That's just you -- a protective, hilariously brave fool." She said sarcastically, flicking her tail at him.

West didn't know how to take that, so he placed it in the compliments section instead of the insults section. Eh, three of the words were kind. "Thanks... I do try. Sometimes." He half heartedly joked, gazing up at the hill. "Though stallions like that make me so mad sometimes..." he sighed, his head lowering slightly

Lily pulled away. "They ALWAYS make me mad." Then, embarrassed, said, "But I haven't had enough courage to stand up to one before. I've had a rough life, West. I know you have too, but don't want to know my past." Lily bit her lip to keep from crying, though she didn't know why she wanted to.

West glanced at Lily with a forlorn look as he listened to her. "But that's why I'm here. To protect you from all that so you don't have to go through it again. Don't try and dwell on the past, but think about what great future you could have." West said gently, trying to cheer the mare up

Lily just sighed, knowing that if she said anything it would turn out to be even worse than what she had just said. Turning towards the hill, Lily walked up it a little ways and plucked a flower from the ground, looking at it sadly.

-aaaaand I failed- West thought miserably as the mare walked off. -if only I could Ben good at SOMETHING- he thought again with a slight snort, watching Lily quietly.
