Sultan stopped grazing as he looked around a bit before he looked over at Arion smiling softly, He shook his mane out and snorted before he nuzzle her back. He smiled as he watched her look away and giggle everytime he noticed her staring.

Arion looked up at the clouds drifting by. "Ahh. It's so relaxing out here." The black mare said. Her wavy black mane flowed to the ground. Arion looked back towards Sultan and blushed. Should I just tell him? No, What if he doesn't like me back? Ugh this is so hard! Arion thought.

Tigress looked at Wildfire, realizing he was taking this the same way she was. He felt it was his duty to protect the herd too. "Maybe no one is at fault," she said sadly. " Maybe it was just the wrong time and the wrong place. She was beginning to feel more and more like Wildfire. They were similar in so many ways, She hoped he didn't think she was weak.

Wildfire tilted his head, his eyes filled with curiosity. "Maybe not. I suppose I'm being too hard on myself. Anyways, you shouldn't be as hard on yourself either. Maybe we have both learned something from this." Wildfire looked at Tigress. He had never realized how beautiful her eyes were. They were like blue fire. So much story was behind them. So easy to get lost in... Wildfire shook his head slightly and blinked a few times before looking away. He nuzzled Tigress lightly before heading to the leaf pile where Lilac was resting to check on her and to do laps to check the herd. Edited at November 2, 2022 10:10 AM by Painted Hills Ranch

Sultan closed his eyes and raised his head enjoying the nice breeze that was blowing letting it blow through his mane. "Yeah it is relaxing and peaceful It's nice to not have to always be on edge and made to move" He said as he lowered his head a little and looked over at her as he tilted his head some.

"Yeah. That's nice." Arion smiled and looked at the handsome stallion. Their eyes met. Arion blushed and flicked her tail. Her mane blew with the light breeze. "Have you ever... Had a... Mate?" Arion asked looking away.

Lilac saw Wildfire coming over, "Hello!" her ankle was hurting but being next to the herd's beta helped. "What have you been doing? Is the herd doing well?" Lilac snorted.

Moon was prancing after butterflies when a blur of tan caught the corner of her eye. Her ears pinned, she slowly approached the sound. In the blink of an eye, she was pinned to the ground by a giant mountain lion. Dazed, she neighed for help. Weakly, she tried to run, but the cougar pinned her again. She squealed, unable to move.

Lilac's ears perked up, swinging her head to the young filly. In a second she was galloping to the mountain lion, she got up to its face and reared, neihing loudly. She turned around and bucked the mountain lion off Moon. It hissed and then ran into the woods. Lilac was breathing heavily, "Moon! Are you alright?! Did that beast hurt you?"." .

Lilac went over to the filly, nuzzling her gently, "Your okay young one, you are safe...".
