Kasim | Mzee Pride | Second | M: Kalisto, Xiana Kasim watched his brother carefully, waiting for the exact moment Kalisto released possession of the carcass after taking his fill so he could take his turn. As Kal walked away, Kasim circled the back end of the zebra, settling for a back quarter of the hip. 'the best cut,' in his opinion. Kasim took his time, carving his meal from the femur until he could freely remove his chunk from the rest and take it to a secluded corner of the plains to enjoy his peace. After him, the rest of the lionesses were free to take their turns until the carcass was cleaned down to the bones. The male found his gaze wandering to that of his brother and the young lioness he was so fond over. He couldn't help but roll his orbs before completely turning away and finding an acacia tree to hide underneath for the next hour or so to enjoy his meal. Xiana| Mzee Pride | Appren. Healer| M: Xiomara, Kalisto
Xiana worked diligently to treat each and every huntress before she finally allowed herself to rest. She looked around the group and found Xiomara, slightly more relaxed as she spoke friendly with another elder lioness. She smiled, it wasn't very often that she saw her mother uncoil her hard outershell and intereact with the pride. A warm touch pulled her out of her thoughts and Xiana whipped her head around to offer a welcoming smile to her favorite lion. "Hey, Kal." She nustled him in return, her ears perking at his gentle words. At the mention of 'healer,' her thoughts immediately drifted to her mother, the acting shaman. "Oh, well I think that she's having one of her better evenings." She smiled, finding the familiar dark hide of which she inherited. It took her a few moments before she embarassingly realized her mistake. "Oh, you meant me?" Her features heated as she darted her face away from his view. "I'm alright. Just making sure everyone is well and cared for." She chuckled nervously, finding the ground suddenly very interesting. "I'm sorry, it's just so weird to think about referring to myself as a real healer. I've been an apprentice for so long, it doesn't feel real yet." She explained with a nervous sigh and a cheeky smile. Though not technically 'the' healer of the Mzee pride just yet, Xiana had indeed completed all the necessary training she would need to take the place of Shaman once her mother decided to step down. However, Xi didn't see that in the near future for the lioness who buried herself in her work nearly all hours of the day, and honestly, she really didn't mind it. The longer her mother was the healer meant the longer she would have with her in her sound and able mind. "And speaking of things that still need some getting used to, how is the KING this evening?" Xi wittingly redirected the conversation onto Kal as she playfully bumped his shoulder. "How has the transition been?"

Kalisto | Mzee Pride | King | M: Xi, Kasim, Mzee Pride Kalisto chuckled at Xi's response to his attentions. "Can't say I am much better off. Being King sounds fun until you actually inherit the title," he curled his tail around his paws, fully making himself comfy as they sat off to the side of the kill. "Not that I am ungrateful for the role, but it is definitely a change of pace and peace of mind." Kal glanced over to where his brother had snuck off to, giving his head a slight shake at his antics before turning his gaze back to Xiana. "At least with your new role you still have your mother to look to and fall back on when needed. I find I am lacking in that department," Kal dropped his gaze to the hard ground beneath his feet, and scuffed the ground in front of him with his paw, making small scores in the dirt with his claws. He knew there wasn't much more his father could have taught him, but it would be nice to still have the older male around to turn to when advice was needed or turbulent waters needed to be calmed. Between the rift that had seemed to appear between himself and Kasim, and the negotiations he needed to have with the surrounding prides, Kal wished he had his father here to help him and provide a sense of confidence in him, but alas that was not to be. Kal knew he shouldn't be showing these emotions around the pride, his sorrow could be seen as a weakness that needed to be nipped off at the bud, but Xi had never judged him before...at least not too harshly.

Xiana| Mzee Pride | Appren. Healer| M: Kalisto Xiana listened to his new found struggles and tried hard not to feel sorry for him. She couldn't imagine not having the guidance of her mother, even if she didn't always apprecaite it as she should in the moments. She was silent for a beat between them, her green orbs tracing the hashings Kalisto had created in the soil in front of him. "Perhaps this is a time when family ties need to be strengthened." She suggested, bringing her gaze to meet his features. "I know things are ... not perfect between you and Kasim at the moment ... but maybe if you showed him that he is still vital in keeping the pride afloat and running smooth, he will have a change of heart?" Everyone had known Kasim had a large part in the dealings with his father when it came to running the pride. Like his father, he buried himself in the work, making his entire life revolve around it. She could only image that was the reason for King Omari's decision to crown Kalisto. The 'other brother' always had a kinder way of things and no matter how busy he seemed, he never allowed his duties to consume him. Kasim didn't have that balance and maybe Omari untimately was looking out for his son, rather than looking to spite him. "Hey, maybe he could help you set up the meeting with the Nzuri Pride?" Xiana's features perked up at the spark of the idea. . The Nzuri pride was the closest neighbor to the Mzee unit, and the one that had caused the most shenanigans for King Omari. He and their late king had many ill dealings, but since his only daughter had taken reign, there had been an "unoffical" peace between the groups for some time and now, it would be up to the two young leaders to decide the future of their prides living side by side.

Kalisto | Mzee Pride | King | M: Xiana, Kasim Kal listened to his friend's advice and nodded slowly. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea. He didn't know how he was going to have time to get to all the prides that surrounded their territory anyway. Surely Kasim could be trusted to handle a couple diplomatic meetings? The dark male knew that even if they weren't on the best terms at the moment, his brother would always put the pride's interests before his own. "You're right Xi, as per usual," Kal gave a teasing grin as he nudged the lioness's shoulder again. Sometimes he wondered what he would do without his friend around to help work through things, and he was glad he hopefully would never have to. He glanced towards the kill before a look of shock overcame his features. "You haven't eaten yet have you? I'm sorry! I shouldn't have kept you this long."

Xiana| Mzee Pride | Appren. Healer| M: Kalisto Xiana kept her gloating to a minimum as Kalisto agreed with her suggestion. "Meh, it's what you keep me around for, right?" She chuckled along with him before bringing her orbs back to the carcass that had nearly disappeared before their eyes. A little wave of shock washed over her, realizing she would be working majoritively with scraps this evening. "Oh uh, that's alright, I can scrounge something." She waved off his apology and brought her long frame to stand. "It will be less work for us to clean the bones later on." She shrugged, trying to act nonchalant about it. Xi glanced over to her mother who, although she was still chatting with that other lioness, had paused long enough to score a medium sized chunk of meat in front of her. There would be enough to share amongst the two of them if what was left on the body didn't suffice her hunger. The good thing was that this pride was well fed, so she wouldn't starve tonight.

(Is it ok if I introduce Kovu and Vitani at a later time, I kind of wanna make them cubs then process their growth, Only if that's alright) Kala| Mzee Pride | Appren. Elder| M: None, Open As she heard the sounds of victorius roars, She knew the hunt was a success, Her dark green orbs glued infront of her as she made her way to the kill, Her vision eventually lancing on the kill and majority of the pride already there and feasting, She waited her turn and allowed everyone including cubs to feast first, After each pride member had their fill, She finally made her way to the kill, Tearing a leg off and trotting towards a more private area to enjoy her meal, Her orbs scaning incase any members or prideless lions tried to steal her meal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nala| Mzee Pride | Appren. Huntress| M: None, Open The young huntress looked up after taking down the Zebra, Her orange orbs scaning for the pride members, Once noticing the pride males coming towards the kill, She trotted off making a distance so she didn't seem disrespectful, After the males had their fill, She made her way back over with the other huntress females, She went for the stomach of the kill and grabbed quite a big chunk, She then walked off and held her head high with pride, She then found a spot and relaxed herself, Tearing into her meal and looking pleased.

Yes River, that is fine. ) Kasim | Mzee Pride | Second | M: Open Not wanting to have to deal with scavengers, Kasim makes quick work of his meal, quite literally licking the bone clean. He then took his time cleaning his fur of the blood that covered his paws while he waited for night to fall across the savannah. Nights when the moon wasn't full, hanging high in the sky, the land could be hard to navigate, even on the open expanse. Thankfully, his nocternal vision left him to feel quite comfortable in the darkness regardless. It was his favorite time of the day. As most animals were tucked away in their herds or burrows, the land was calm and as quiet as it ever would be. It was also his favorite shift to patrol as not many feline tresspassors would cross during the night when the pride would be its most active. . He lied there, enjoying the last moments before the moon would rise and it would be time for him to go out on his patrol once more. Patrol. That was all he did these days since his father's passing. That seemed to be all that Kalisto trusted him to do. Personally, he felt as if it were a slap in the face by his brother. He was much more capable of running the pride by himself than Kal was currently proving ... but these details he prefered to keep to himself to stay out of trouble. The last time he spoke out, well, it didn't end great for him. Kasim made a sour expression on his features at just the thought. He really did try to push his feelings aside and support his brother initially, but with each decision he made, Kasim couldn't stop himself from thinking how different (and "better") he would have chosen. Now, he felt stuck. Should he just leave the pride? No. He was too proud of his lineage to abandon generations of ruling. Maybe there was a way for him to rechallenge his claim to the title of King? There has to be something I'm missing ...

(Tysm also what is your nickname, Mine is Holland ^^) Kala| Mzee Pride | Appren. Elder| M: None, Open The elder lioness finished her meal and then went to join the rest of the pride, Once there she limped to her rock and slumped down onto it, She yowled softly and layed her head to rest, After a few hours she awoke to notice her daughter laying beside her, She nuzzled her gently before getting up and going into her den, She was on the verge of delivering her son, She huffed and after a few minutes her son was born, She leaned up and looked over at him, He was much darker then her and Nala. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nala| Mzee Pride | Appren. Huntress| M: None, Open After the young lioness finished eating, She trotted back to the pride and layed beside her mother who was sleeping, She chuckled and rested her head on her paws and closed her eyes, A few hours later she felt her mother's touch and slowly opened her eyes, She yowled softly and rose her head up watching her mother walk to her den, She sighed and got up, Walking to Kasmin.

Kalisto | Mzee Pride | King | M: Xiana, Kasim "If you say so Xi," Kal nodded but still felt bad about not allowing his friend to get her own fair share of the kill. Luckily, the lands were plentiful right now and no one would go without food for too long. The dark male glanced over at where his brother lay and decided that he needed to have the discussion with him about meeting with the neighboring prides sooner rather than later. Hopefully, Kas would be a bit more agreeable now that he had a full belly and the day was cooling off into night. He excused himself from Xi as he began walking towards where his brother lay. As he got closer, he noticed the scowl on his brother's face and slightly winced at the sight. Hopefully that didn't affect the outcome of the discussion. Kalisto came to stand beside his brother before sitting back on his haunches. The few moments of silence after were a bit awkward as Kal didn't quite know how to begin. "It's a lovely night tonight," a slight breeze ruffled his mane and Kal took in the scent of the plains around them. Once more, silence seemed to overtake them before Kal cleared his throat and continued on. "I was hoping to discuss the meetings we need to set up between ourselves and the neighboring prides."

I go by Ara :) Kasim | Mzee Pride | Second | M: Kalisto, Nala Kasim quickly spotted his brother's dark figure in the dim light that illuminated the landscape just as the sun set and right before the moon would take hold of the sky. He plastured a grin that reflected Kalisto's as he walked up and sat beside him. Awkward silence suffocated them, as Kasim chose to look off in the distance, wishing himself to be anywhere than where he was now. His round audits flicked at his male's small talk, rolling his orbs that were hidden under his mane for the time being. "Yes, lovely indeed, brother." He answered in an emotionless tone, however, his next words were far more interesting to him. Kas turned towards Kalisto, a skeptical look graces his features as his brother mentioned the meetings, but invited him to indulge further. 'What would he have to do with these meetings? Did Kal really think he could just ask him for advice when it was made so clear that he didn't need help before?' Kasim nearly growled aloud as his thoughts turned catty with possibilities. "What about the meetings?" He asked, still watching the land before them, noting the approach of a lioness (Nala) on the path his brother had just taken.
