'Thank you, Lilac,' The foal nuzzled the mare gently, then trotted around her, trying to get her to play. She lowered her head, picked up a mouthful of grass, and ate it, then went back to trotting around her.

Lilac chuckled and started playing with the young filly, cantering around her, letting Moon chase her. Lilac stopped, "Moon, would you mind showing me where that mountain lion came from?".

Waking up from his snooze, Farnight saw Lilac and Moon close by in a hollow and stretching his legs, he got up and slowly trotted towards them. "What's up?" He neighed. Edited at November 2, 2022 10:46 AM by Luckshan Breeding

"A Mountain lion just attacked moon...we are trying to find out how and where it came from. Farnight could you go around and see if the her is okay?" Lilac nickered at the young stallion.

"Ok." Galloping around the luscious field, Farnight one at a time spotted his herd mates. He felt some pressure release when he realized everyone was ok and no one was hurt.

'Uh,' Moon glanced back towards the tall grass, then back to Lilac. 'Back there, butterflies led me.' She lay down, nuzzling scratches on her front legs. The taste of copper filled her mouth, and she ate some clovers to make it go away.

Wildfire came galloping up from the river. "What happened, I heard a lot of neighing?!" He slid to a stop in front of Lilac, breathing hard, his heart beating fast. What had he messed up now?

"Wildfire!" Farnight shouted from across the field. "Come over here and ill tell you what happened."

Wildfire cantered over to catch up with Farnight, circling the herd with him. He listened carefully, his ears alert, his eyes darting every which way. Edited at November 2, 2022 11:18 AM by Painted Hills Ranch

Tossing his head up and down, Farnight explained what happened briefly. " A lion attacked Moon! She was chasing a butterfly and it ambushed her. Luckily, Lilac was a few hoofbeats away and heard Moon's cry for help, so she saved her. I don't think it was fully grown, the lion." He rushed. "I scanned the perimeter and everyone is ok."
