Ranger closed his eyes for a moment, mentally rolling them. Obviously that wouldn't work, because the mare did NOT catch on. "I really don't understand the point of your fighting. Why don't you let her stay for a while, and figure out why you're so angry? And why don't you listen to what the leader of this herd and *owner* of this land says?" Ranger directed the first sentence to both mares, the second sentence to Angel, and the third sentence to Kahlle. He sounded slightly exasperated, but cleared that tone quickly

Angels gaze lighted and she stood down. "Why are you here?" She asked the mare and looked at ranger. He didn't understand and he probably never would

Mini tossed her head as she watched her herd from a distance. She couldn't stand to be the outcast anymore. Mini stepped down from the rocks and trotted to her friend. "Hey Mini!" Fiona said. "Hey Fiona..." Fiona nudged her "what's wrong?" Mini looked away. Right then, Grayson galloped between horses, sliding to a stop in front of the lead mare and giving a small bow. Grayson said one word that made Mini's blood run cold: Wolves. Yuna, the lead mare, turned and galloped towards the woods, her foal Zeena and Grayson on her heels. Grayson gave a shrill whinney and the other stallions hopped into action, the mares galloping in the middle of their protective circle. Fiona shot past Mini, her short legs somehow moving faster than Mini's. Mini tossed her head then purposefully slowed. Stallions and mares heavy with foal galloped past her. Mini moved towards the outside then dodged a huge tree. She continued to run, following the sound of hoofbeats. She dodged another tree and now she couldn't see her herd. She moved faster but the hoofbeats were too far away. The cry of a wolf brought her back to her senses and she jumped into a faster gallop. Now all she could hear was the sound of her own heart beat as she pounded through the woods. She slowed to a stop at the edge of the woods. -what's this?- she thought as she stepped through the break in the trees. She eyed the lush grass. She couldn't stay long. She had to find Fiona and Grayson... Grayson. Mini lowered her head and took deep breaths. She lifted her head at the sound of a stick breaking. She cantered through the empty field then turned into a beaten path through the trees. -"must've used a lot" she muttered as she followed the path. She stopped short when she saw horses. Mini let her huge body take a break, her blood bay varnish leopard Appaloosa coat dripping with sweat, a few too many scrapes covering her sides. She stayed against the trees, watching the horses. Mini shook her head. If she was going to be in a herd again, she couldn't be an outcast again. Mini walked towards the horses, her eyes traveling over each one. Maybe no one would notice her if she galloped to the other side... so she did. Edited at July 18, 2023 10:15 AM by Sky Stables

Ranger didn't try any harder, having at least accomplished something... they weren't acting like two idiotic stallions facing off anymore. He stepped back and settled into a relaxed position again, his gaze trailing around. It caught a decent sized mare at the edge of the woods, and he watched her run across the the small hills on the other side of him. -Hm- He thought, perking his ears and watching her for a moment, trying to decide whether to go give her a proper greeting,

Mini stopped and looked around, her eyes catching a stallion watching her. She snorted and trotted away. Why would some random stallion be watching her? According to the snotty stallions from her former herd, she was the ugliest mare there. Grayson was the only stallion who had become friends with her. Mini tossed her head and lengthened her stride, her trot long and fast. Her mane and tail were flowing behind her.
