Katrina gave a weak smile. "I'd prefer to get lost than go to the hospital." The more she started to lose her strength, the less pronounced her English became, although it was still fairly easy to understand. 'Except this?' What did that mean? And why was he crying earlier? She had so many questions.
Instead of focusing on that, which seemed like entirely too much additional drama for the moment, Katrina added with a pained tone, "the last time I was in a hospital, I was eight. I promised myself I wouldn't go back to one..." She trailed off, lost in thought, or maybe pain. It was all unclear. It seemed as though one set of memories came flooding back which initiated every single moment of her life to hit her in a way that brought about great emotion. What was clear, was that she trusted Scott. Being a very shy, independent woman, Katrina hardly ever opened up to anyone. But the man beside her seemed to defy all of her 'hardly evers' and even 'nevers.' And what a scary thing that was to her.

"Well, it will be best if you go." Scott said as he drove. "The last time I was in the hospital was a month ago..." He preceded to not talk about that. He was being a stupid, reckless child drunk idiot. He wondered what happened to Katrina then but didn't question her. Now was not the time for any past related questions.

Although very respectful and considerate of others, Katrina's childlike curiosity got the best of her. "What'd you do?" She asked, her voice genuinely full of concern and intrigue.
(Short lol sorry)

Oh dear.... Why in the cornbread heck did I say that.... Scott thought. He really did not want to go through what happened. It was embarrassing and then he would have to explain the situation of whole problem. "I, uh... it's a long story..." He said vaguely. He could have made up his own story but he figured that this would be better in the long run, even if he was fully telling the truth.

Katrina nodded patiently, looking out the window as they drove. It couldn't have been long until they reached the hospital at this point.
The rest of the drive was silent, with Katrina partially just trying to keep herself from passing out. She had so many questions, but given the reaction to the one she did ask, she assumed Scott wanted little to do with her after this one trip.
The hospital was crowded and busy, but the pair got a room almost immediately due to the pure amount of blood all over Katrina. She was stitched up and scanned immediately and put into a room. However, the doctor had asked the nurse to keep her for just a bit longer, so he could discuss 'something' with her. Hesitantly, the girl started to fidget. She knew something would go wrong.
Plot movement x100 lol sorry if this is vague I'm trying to move it along before I can't reply anymore XD))

Scott just stood in the corner of the room. He didn't want to sit. He couldn't sit. It unnerved him to lie, even if it was half true. It was wrong and every fiber of his being screamed that he needed to tell Katrina the truth. Why? He had been so quick to lie to everyone else but why not her?
The doctor left after discussing some things with the nurse but soon came back after around ten to fifteen minutes.
(I understand xD

Hehe I don't wanna leave thisss. They're my favoritesss))
For a brief moment, the doc asked Scott to step out, and when he got back in, tears were streaming down Katrina's face silently.
"They're keeping me overnight," she said weakly, definitely at the end of her patience. She didn't elaborate, she assumed the questions would come flooding in quickly enough. She couldn't look at Scott, so she stared off to the left of him out of a window.

Scott looked concerned but just nodded. Why were they keeping Katrina overnight? She only received a gash in her head. Well, it did take awhile to get medical help. After a moment of pondering, Scott finally spoke up. "Why?" He asked nonchalantly.

Katrina avoided looking at him, taking a good long moment to process the way she was going to explain it. "Well, since I well...left...I...uh...haven't been...taking good care of myself...haven't been...eating...the doc said that if he didn't do anything about it...I have the potential...to...well, die a slow death...in a lot more words, but that was the general explanation."
Her face still held tears. Why was she crying? Couldn't she hold it together? Changing the subject partially, she added, "you can go back if you want to, but Rhynn probably needs to know."

"That sounds familiar..." Scott muttered sadly. "No, I'll stay." He said in a clearer voice. He picked up a tissue box on the counter and handed it to Katrina with a sort of awkward, half smile. "I can text Eli and tell him to tell Rhynn. He won't want to but I'll convince him." Scott chuckled a bit. Eli had certainly been a character since they arrived at the stables. He thought it was particularly funny that his brother had gone out of his way to prevent him from seeing Katrina. A bit rude, but funny.
