My dog was taught to pick stuff off the floor like keys. I put a bobble keychain on it so she could easily pick them up.
She also would bring the mail from the mailbox into the house.
She loved the small jobs.
When she was younger, she could also spend two hours running in the dog park or the backyard.

It made her feel useful, it made her calmer in the house, and easier in public.
She loved meeting new people, especially kids, and she was a BIG dog, so she was taught she had to lay down to meet someone new, and then she would present her belly for rubs (one of her absolute favorite things).
It made her think and respond accordingly to people.

She wasn't the most mannered dog - still would bark at the door and if she knew the person would jump on them and lick their ears.

Not all dogs are perfect but

Sorry for the whole rambling rant - training and behavior are a HUGE passion for me.

There are great clicker training podcasts. My favorite is Equine Clicker 101, as it gives a step by step guide to the session and also what to do for troubleshooting situations.

There's a few people who are on the Video Social Media who give training tips and ideas for keeping an energetic dog.
Like small things you can do is make meal time interesting and a challenge - scattering kibble in a towel and rolling it up, or in a ball, or a frozen peanut butter Kong.
Anything that makes them take longer to eat and have to use their brain.

Something mentally challenging is almost as energy depleting as something physically challenging.

Having a job can also promote self confidence in a dog.
Something simple like bringing you the re

Training a service dog was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had.
She loved having a job - from being a mobility guide, anxiety helper, and even household chores like putting dishes in the sink, garbage and recycling, and putting laundry in the basket.

Training is one of those things that is always happening - every time you interact with anyone, you are teaching them how to interact with you.
If you let a horse or dog take up your space, they will then you think that that's an okay behavior.
Sometimes sessions are about fun things like crawl and roll over, sometimes it's experiencing a new environment and relaxing, and other times it's going back to basics.
Have fun - do dog things
Work on manners - in th house
Work on tasks
You can't demand perfection all the time, they should be allowed to be an animal, but make it interesting and fun to do different things all the time. Even if it's something small.

Sarah Phoenix | Female | Serpent-Tongue Speaker

Sarah listened, and brought her eyes up to his face. "Ouch," She murmured. "You could have been killed. You're very lucky. If you want to learn first-aid, you can just ask. It's fairly easy, as long as your not too squeamish." She awkwardly patted his arm, unfortunately she used her hand that was in the sling, earning a brief race of pain up her shoulder.
Ryoko flexed her claws, although she was careful not to dig them into Mason. She gave him an affectionate little nip, much like a cat.
Kaito rolled his eyes and settled his ruff back to normal. "I guess. But it's much more fun." He indignantly ruffled his wings. "I'm not that small. If you want small, take a look at them Terrors. Or garter-snake sized Frill Wyrms."

Draein Hravar | Male | Dragon Rustler
Draein tensed as he faced the stranger, and tried to keep his focus as he stood there, not willing to turn and leave himself exposed. However, when Vern spoke, he grew surprised at her words. He had thought she was a dragon freer, since he had come across a few of them, and they had all tried to attack him. If she thought he was a dragon when she attacked him, she certainly wasn't a dragon freer, and seemed to be a dragon rustler like himself. He lowered his guard slightly, and answered, speaking as clearly as he could with his light-headedness. "I am Draein Hravar, a dragon rustler from the Northern group. I assume you are a dragon rustler as well, if you thought I was a dragon when you attacked." Seeing the stranger's gaze move towards his wound, which still throbbed painfully. He tensed as he saw her take a few steps closer, and heard what she said as she approached. Is that a threat? He thought nervously, and kept his hand near the hilt of his sword to make sure he could defend himself if she suddenly attacked him. He then heard her tell him not to struggle, and flinched when she raised her hand as if she was going to strike, and stiffened against the expected blow. However, the blow never came, and he noticed that, instead of attacking him, she touched the cut on his neck. Draein was confused, but decided not to say anything, since she seemed like she wasn't going to attack him.
~
Once she turned and started searching through her bag, he relaxed a bit, and started focusing on his current situation instead of defensively watching for any possible dangers. Usually, if someone had attacked him like that, they would have stopped the fight and brought their attention to something else. Of course, no one had ever attacked him from above, and he still didn't trust this stranger, but since she had put herself in a vulnerable position while she was rummaging through her bag, and since she had even spoke in a more or less friendly manner, he reasoned that she really didn't mean to hurt him, and really did want to help. The stranger seemed to confirm this by bringing out a first aid kit and some bandages. He listened to what she said, and nodded slightly. "I'll sit, if you don't mind." He answered quickly, finding a good sized fallen tree trunk to sit down on. He chose to take her advice, and placed his hand on the injury. It was wet and sticky to the touch, but he kept the pressure on it. He tried to keep away the dizziness and light-headedness he still felt as he watched Vern wipe her hand on a tree, noticing that it left a red smear on the bark. That isn't all from me, is it? He thought in alarm, and moved his other hand away from the hilt and on the fallen tree trunk he was sitting on to stable himself as the wave of dizziness increased.

Mason & Rome Dee | Bro and Sis | Dragon People
Mason tipped his eyes down and to the side, his head with it. "I wish I had been killed, right now I don't feel very lucky." He twitched his fingers and tensed his hands. "Even after he attacked me. I wasn't scared till I couldn't breathe." He kept staring down, he was motionless. He assumed she was paying enough attention to remember that he couldn't breathe after the knife went in. He held his hands in front of him, glancing at them. Mason rested them on his knees. His head lifted, his eyes peacefully rested on Sarah. "First aid isn't usually a priority of mine. Although it should be. Considering what I've gotten into." He motioned with his hands, pointing to all of himself. He immediately looked up and to his shoulders when the mood dragon started making biscuits on his shoulder. He let out a laugh. "She's like a cat." A smile paused on his face for a few moments.
Rome glared at him. "Terrors are terrifying." She decided not to make the dumbest mistake ever. That would be making a terror-fying pun, but she settled for a joke which probably wasn't the best idea, considering she wasn't talking to a dangerous dragon who bit a lot. "I suppose.. but terrors aren't cute in the least, they look.. weird." Her eyes tipped away. He's destracted, stopped biting me huh, I wonder if he gets lonely.
Vern Taltaz | Female | Dragon-Rustler
Vern could sense worry in him, he obviously wasn't in a good place at the time. She'd come close to accidentally murdering the poor man after all. His voice sounded slow and smooth, gaining a flinch in her ear. "Nice to meet you. I find it highly unlikely that I am a dragon freer. Calm down." Her voice came out quiet and chill, but not unfriendly or demanding. She decided not to tell him her name, since she didnt know much about him at the time. But she had a feeling she would because he would be as limp and a wilting leaf soon. Draein. Unique. She made sure her touch was light, she could see that she hadn't hit anything major that would threaten his life. Aside from blood loss.. but if he cooperated he would live.
Vern felt him look her position over she knew he was untrusting with her, but she knew since he couldn't attack, she didn't have much to fear. Besides maybe a few stains on her shirt, but it wasn't like they'd be the only ones, she would have to get him to water before she could properly clean his wound, in order to get him anywhere, she would have to stop the bleeding, which meant he needed to cooperate.
In about 5 paces she sat down beside him, probably seeming like magic of sorts, she pulled the knife out from behind her back. She sat it on her lap and rolled three layers out onto her hand that were about 6 inches long. She used the blade to slice the fabric. Reaching back after she placed it, she noticed Draein's wavering, like he was going to fall. "Are you sure you don't want to sit on the ground and lean on the log?" Vern's voice picked up the erie silence, grabbing his attention, or at least she was trying. Her eyes fell to his hand, she leaned forward slightly. Getting a little dizzy, not a good sign.
Vern scooted closer and picked his hand off the cut, softly. She opened the bandages and folded them again, into 4 pieces. His bleeding was slowing but that didn't change it needing to be cleaner then it was now. She tipped her hand up and pressed the bandage over his wound. Putting pressure on it, hardly any blood got through the four layers.
She waited for about five minutes before she lifted it, she wiped away other blood around the area. "Now I'm gonna need you to hold still. And don't swallow till I'm done or else you'll have a wonky stitch." Vern was referring to his Adam's Apple moving, in her eyes, it was rather prominent and would get in the way if he gulped.
She lifted her hand off on what was left dry on the bandage and she set it off to the side. Searching through her first-aid kit, she pulled out a needle and some strings. God I hope you aren't afraid of needles.
Vern kneeled beside him and sat propped up on her ankle. She tipped his head back and began the torture on his throat. She was being careful, and she knew it hurt like hell, but she wanted to see how much he would withstand. The first stitch probably surprised him, but she kept going till it was finished, then she cut the string, this time she used a very small dagger that was hiding in her shoelaces, to cut the string. "You okay?" She asked him, knowing he would most likely be disoriented or fainted. Or dead.
She listened for his answer while she cut more bandages. She had estimated his neck size and cut twice that so she could wrap the bandage twice around him and sew it taut.
Hoping that it wouldn't be to tight, she reached over him and wrapped the bandages on him, almost perfectly fitting him. After she had pulled it tight. she stuck four fingers onto his skin, under the bandages. She pulled it tight to the four fingers and his throat so that he wouldn't suffocate on it after she sewed it to tight. But, to be fair, the bandages were stretchy.
Vern pinned the layers with two fingers and left the other four on his neck, she grabbed the threads and needle and and sewed it together. She did this for protection against anything rubbing or pulling the stitches loose.

Sarah shifted her weight so she could balance on the branch without holding onto it. She reached over and grabbed one of Mason's hands. "Maybe right now, but you really are lucky. Not many could have survived something like that. And yes, it really should be." She looked up at Ryoko and grinned. "Yeah, she's been like a cat with wings ever since I got her."
Kaito snorted. "Obviously, that's why they're called Terrors. What do you think they'd be called? Fluffers? They look like grasshoppers and I'd eat them if they weren't poisonous."

Mason's face looked grim, he held his where they were. He looked down at his hands and had to double back when he realized that Sarah had put one of her hands atop his. Mason's face turned bright pink, he looked away. Did she just put her hand on mine?- He looked up at Sarah, his face was softly tinted pink. "Why did you say not many would survive what I did?" His face peaked curiosity, his eyes looked like they flashed.
From under the tree he couldn't tell if it was sunny or cloudy, but he felt a little nicer inside. Because at least it wasn't raining. "You'll have to help me out doc, I know the basics, I ain't stupid." His eyes locked on hers with a sort of challenge.
"It's what makes them dangerous. Their size gives the element of surprise." Rome agreed in an agree-to-disagree manner. Her eyes narrowed and she looked outside, the door was slightly open. "How long gave those two been out?"

His mind was going a mile a minute and he was panting slightly as a result of his racing heart.

Dust || Male || 23 || Dragon || M: Open

The twisterwing managed to fly for several miles before having to land. He lands along the forestline boarding a beach, breathing heavily from exhaustion. He plops down on the leaf-littered floor, trying to catch his breath. I wish my kind were better fliers.

When he finally caught his breath, the male began to smell the air in hopes of finding food. The tang of freshly spilt blood filters through his nostrils, coming from further down the beach. Dust was hesitant at first, but his hunger soon won him over - leading him to follow the scent of food. However, this hunger also caused him to neglect one the time. The scent of another dragon.
