Lily felt her wounds from the aligator coming back with this dragging thing, and they seared painfully. She winced, but didn't whinny or grunt - she couldn't, because of the muzzle - but instead took it without a word. After what seemed like hours (though it was really only about 30 seconds), the dragging stopped, and Lily could feel herself on soft grass. She didn't dare open her eyes, but she heard a commotion behind her that sounded like more dragging. Is that West? Has he come for me? Then, Lily realized, the ropes around her were gone, and so was the muzzle. She finally opened her eyes and saw that she was in a pasture with lush green grass and a tub of something to her left. Then, curious about the grunting and shouting from behind her, Lily tried to stand and face that direction. She tried time and again but could not move, as her wounds ached too much to bear. Finally, she fell asleep.

West got dumped in a small dirt pen with nothing but brown sand, and the humans left him there. -Great- He thought drowsily, summoning up all of his strength to just struggle to his knees. West heaved himself all the way to his feet and stood there for a second before shaking the sand off of his dark pelt. His shoulder had been filled with sand and ached so badly West really wished he could black out again. The whole world was a little fuzzy, and dizziness reigned, but West felt joy flood his heart when he saw one thing. There was Lily, laying in the pasture beside his pen. Then panic filtered in, and West took a few labored steps forward. Was she okay? Was she ... dead? No she was breathing. Good. West took in a slow breath and let out a low nicker, focing his eyes to clear. "Lily, are you okay?" He asked quietly, his voice hoarse, his breathing ragged, and his shoulder torn and bloody

Lily was dreaming... And it wasn't a good dream. She dreamed that she and West were galloping over the plains in a race, and then a giant crack appeared in the ground in front of them, and they shreeched to a stop, but not before Lily slid into the crevice. West looked down at her, falling to her doom. And then, Lily was somehow transported into the air above West, still looking down into the crack, yelling, "Lily! LILY!" And Lily tried to answer, to say she was okay, but no words came out. And she was stuck! She couldn't move from her position in the air. So she just had to watch West suffer, thinking she was dead.

Lily joted awake, shivering, though it wasn't cold out. In fact, it was quite warm... Really warm. Hot, actually. Lily realized West was talking to her. WAIT. WEST WAS TALKING TO HER. How was he here?! Was he here to rescue her? Lily turned her head and saw him. "West..." Lily managed to say. "You're here..." A smile formed on her lips.

West looked overjoyed when Lily spoke, but he couldn't move. Ow. "Of course I'm here, where else do you think I would be?" He asked with a cough, shaking dirt out of his mane. He then saw humans coming to the roundpen, and flinched away in fear. After that anger took over, and West was ready to trample them into the ground. The humans leaned on the roundpen gate, talking in hushed voices. One pointed at Lily, then at him. West pawed the ground with a snort and charged forward, stopping to rear, his flailing hooves smacking into the wood. The two men fell backwards with a screech, then started laughing. "He's a wild one, eh? Even with all those wounds. Must be protectin' that there mare." The humans grunted, getting back up and dusting themselves off. West was too taxed to do much more, so he just pinned his ears and bared his teeth at them

Lily looked confused. "What do you mean? How did you catch up to that - thing - that took me away?" Lily said all this after West had charged the men, and now the two-legged creatures were talking again. "Hey, how do you reckon anyone's gonna break these ones? Not that we're going to, we just capture 'em. But if we sell 'em, will they be worth anything? That mare could be could for breedin', but I'm not sure about the stallion. He's a tough 'n." Said the first man to the second, as they walked away.

West flicked his ears and inhaled, msytering up the strength to speak. "I didn't catch up to it... I just ran. For hours and hours. Following the faint scent you still left behind even in that weird smelling thing." West snorted, his wary gaze passing over the two men. He needed to regain his strength... and fast. West wanted to leave. Right now, but he knew that wasn't physically possible. He glanced around for any signs of water or food, but the roundpen was barren sand. -Do the humans want to starve me?- West thought

Lily turned her gaze back to West. He looked bad... Really bad. And they hadn't put him in a pasture like her! Why would they do that? West needed as much care as her! Then Lily got an idea. She ripped up grass in her mouth and dropped it over the rail into West's pen. This took soem effort, as she needed to stand and walk, but it was worth it helping West. Then she took a big gulp of water, but didn't swallow it, and spit it out on top of the grass. "I hope that helps." She whispered, then flopped back to the ground, exhausted.

West took up his strength to stand, locking his knees nd blowing out a strangled breath. His shoulder hurt like fire, his head swam, and dizziness tried to overwhelm him, but he stayed standing for the moment. When Lily dropped some grass over West's gaze flickered slightly. "Thanks.." He said quietly, hoping that she felt a lot better, really soon. He grabbed the grass and ate it quickly, hoping the humans put him in a pasture soon. Sometime very soon, because he was just growing weaker.

Lily finally took the time to look around her more. She was in a small pasture with a water trough to her left and the gate to the pasture a few feet to her right. In front of her, in pasture, there was a tree in the center that looked like it needed tending to. It's leaves were crispy yet still green, and the bark was peeling off so much that basically half of it was bare. There were three other pastures and two more round pens in this area, along with a little shack and... That thing that had brought her here. All the men were gone and Lily assumed that they were inside the shack, because she could here laughing and talking from within. Lily then noticed she and West weren't the only horses here. She saw a white Thoroughbred in a pasture next to her and a black shining stallion in the other round pen, whom Lili did not want to meet. There was one more horse too, and to Lily's dismay it looked like a colt! A little, brown, skinny thing with spindly legs and a hollow face.
