This was my first RO and one of my foals came out weaker than either of it's parents. The dam was P/E/P and the sire was P/E/E but the foal is S/P/S. How common is it that a foal turns out weaker than either of its parents? - Here's the link to the foal. I was breeding for SD in cross country because I thought that would be easier so I didn't try to match any of the traits except heart, speed, and strength. - Edited at September 4, 2023 11:24 AM by Wild Wind Stables

Pretty common actually ~ When breeding you should really look at a horse's training. In a perfect match, the mare's weaknesses will be the stallion's strength and vice versa. Even then random factor can be rude and still give you a crap foal. And there is always a chance that your mare is so weak in something that even a strong stallion won't balance her out. ~ So it sucks when it happens but know it happens to everyone. I just spent over 200k on a match this RO and thought I thought it was a good match I still got a WEE out of a WWWxWWW
