Oh yeah. It gets expensive. And then if there is complications my local low cost clinic will act it was not their fault and will not fix it. Even if it just needs antibiotics! So I have to take those cats as well to my own vet. Which is absolutely why I am paying over 300 for my small dogs neuter with them.
The other three we had to locate the kittens first and bring them in for socialization and then catch the moms to have fixed and then released back out
We did the same thing when we were at our apartment complex. There was six females running around having babies left and right so we got three of them caught, spayed and then adopted because they were pretty friendly
But I have posted on the neighborhood Facebook that in order for me to continue- they are going to have to call the clinic and donate directly to the cats scheduled for that week. I gave info on how fast they reproduce and what kinda damage they can do
Sam, my husband and I have a soft spot for animals in rescue/need so we try and help as much as possible because one female cat having kittens can turn into a few hundred and a span of like 2 years
They charge 25 for spay/neuter and 10 for rabies. 100 for everything so I just opt for just the rabies, we bring back the tamed ones later for rest of shots
Wraith, did you look up any low-cost spay/neuter places? A lot of times they'll do feral cats for either free or extremely cheap and give them all their shots as well for free.
I am trying my best to keep up. Last month I spent over 1k on rabies vaccines and spay/neuter. I am trying to get them into anywhere I can to get them fixed. But I cannot afford to do this every month, and nobody in my neighborhood cares enough to help. I do not want it getting outta control but I dunno
I am trying to spay/neuter our feral pop here. We tamed a few down and got them on transport which is hella hard. But once I get Cassian my focus is gonna be on him so trying to get them all settled as best as I can.
