I decided I won't babysit for them anymore. They told me they can't afford to pay for a babysitter which is why they paid me less but they asked me if I would watch their dog when they are at fairs and that they would pay me $20. Their dog isn't difficult and I am happy to treat her how she should be treated so when i watch her, I go and play with her outside and make sure she has water(when i went over there last time, her water bowl was dry like she hadn't been given water since a day or two before). And she is super happy to play and stuff like that but only when I am over there, she doesn't really like my brother and gets jealous when I give anyone or anything else attention so she becomes aggressive.

Ya you guys definitely need to call someone about them. Those people clearly don't deserve a dog. I see pets as a privilege and not a right to have. I hope something gets done soon so that no more animals suffer from your neighbors lack knowledge. Also most vets will charge 3900 for a cesarean I only know this because there is this Cane Corso breeder that I watch on YouTube. She's very knowledgeable and is a excellent breeder. Daranyx said: I am working on trying to convince my mom we should really call someone about them. In this part of the state, you have to get them gene tested and licenced(neither of which these people have done) they must also hold a "dangerous dog license" or a pet license in general which they don't currently hold. GSDs(among other breeds) are illegal to own here just because people like to breed them and not train them which has caused frequent dog attacks so they have been deemed dangerous by the county. I dont think they think about how much it actually costs or what they would do if she needed the emergency c-section. Its frustrating for me because I dont really think they even know the basics of breeding so they are BYBs and just going to give away the puppies without knowing where they are going. I wish someone else would say something because I hate getting in the middle of things like that but it doesnt look like there will be any change anytime soon unless we call someone. I talked to the husband the other day because recently their dog has become very aggressive and just mean towards my pup and the neighbors pup. She bit my dog through the fence, my pup yelped and they didn't say anything even though they were outside. The husband said that their dog would never hurt my dog and that she would never bite any pup when she literally just bit Maggie. Maggie is fine now but we are being more careful because of their dogs aggression and we cant exactly block of our side of the fence because of the rules of the housing association. The husband continued to say that the dog is just being protective of us and that its because she is just bored and needs a job to do since all she has is her backyard to run in but he said he doesn't have time to walk his dog or play with her. I am glad he acknowledged that she needs to be played with more but he is lying when he says he doesn't have time to take her anywhere. He doesn't have to work right now because of covid so he stays home all day and does woodwork as a hobby until really late at night. There is a dog park literally less than 20 meters out of his back yard and no one is hardly ever there. I am just so tired of seeing them just neglect her. I fear that one day, she will either jump the fence or get loose somehow and bite a kid or dog or someone in general and she will have to be put down.

Yea. They haven't actually taken her to the vet in over a year so I dont even think she is up to date on all of her vaccines let alone know how much it will actually cost to breed and pay for all of the puppy vet bills. I have been bringing it up to my mom that we need to call or write an anonymous email or something.

I consider animal neglect/abuse under the same category as child abuse and neglect. Its really sad, because often the animal or child will put up with it because they want to be loved, or its all they know. And if they do tell someone, they often get ignored, and if they try to stop it themselves, it often becomes worse. I think the best thing to do would be to call someone about it. An anonymous email/phone call sounds like a good idea. I really hope this dog is removed from this awful situation :(

Oof, that's extremely dangerous especially now. Parvo cases are on the rise because people are putting other priorities first instead of their animals well being. And I agree Luminescene. Oh btw this is my main account, one of my side accounts is Stormy Castle Equine. Daranyx said: Yea. I see a lot of people talking about he dog situation, but here are my thoughts about the situation with your sister: - your sister needs to make herself a contract to protect herself from shitty customers. Unfortunately, as artists there are a lot of people out there that just do not value our work, they think we just sit and draw all day, and that it’s easy/not worth the money.
- she should not do ANY work until they have signed the contract. I believe it is common to charge half upfront before work begins, and then the other half after completion.
- There are lots of videos about this on youtube that are free to watch. I am a graphic design student and while we haven’t started the business class yet, I’ve been doing my own research in the meantime. If someone wants a dirt-cheap logo, they could go on a website like Fiverr, or use a logo generator but they will get what they paid for… likely a generic, impersonal logo.
- normally graphic designers do not charge their hourly rate directly, but they estimate how long the project will take, and times that by an hourly rate to get the total. If the project needs more work then she could charge an hourly rate after she has already put in the amount of hours she has estimated. This could be written into the contract as well, as I have seen other designers do.
I hope this doesn’t come across as blaming your sister, this is just what I’ve learned from my teachers in school and other designers online. My teachers have shared with us quite a few horror stories lol, and I don’t want that to happen to me or anyone else.

I agree with everything you have said here. She should have made a contact but we figured all would be fine because they said they would pay her. We went by their word and trusted them. They came to us a few days ago(they were drunk as heck) and said they couldn't afford to pay her right now because their business is doing poorly but they want to pay her still when they can afford it. (We will believe it when we see it). We took our dog to the vet yesterday to recieve her final parvo vaccine. She has had a few and hasn't shown any sign of illness. My dog will not need vaccines for a year now but will be spayed since no one in our area apparently stays or neuters their dogs 😒 not only that but we want our dog to be as healthy and happy as possible. ~Whispering Hallows~ said: Oof, that's extremely dangerous especially now. I am trying to figure out how to send an anonymous email or phonecall and convince my mom that its the right thing to do. She wants to wait for my dad to get home since he isn't here right now to help if something does go wrong. If worse comes to worse, we have talked about taking their dog if her and my dog can get along. She is a good dog she just needs the attention all dogs deserve. I am not saying they are abusing their three children but a few days ago they got really drunk. They went inside and left the youngest child(she is probably about 2) outside with their dog. She opened the gate and wandered outside and she closed the gate back. She then was walking around and was about to dissappear around the corner. My mom saw and grabbed her and brought her into our yard so she was safe. My mom, just recently had surgery(last week). She now has an internal tear in the area because she had to run after the neighbors daughter. She was on our side of the fence for a good while before one of her parents remembered and came and got her.
