I'm currently in the hospital ICU for pneumonia... Ive never been here before and I'm a little scared. I don't really have much friends to talk to. I'm on oxygen and it's hard for me to move around.. it's scary. I don't really know what to do or how to feel, and quite honestly I feel alone. If anyone could give some advice on how to stay positive, I'd appreciate that a lot. :)

Hang in there. Talk to your doctors about how you're feeling, they want you to feel better not just physically but emotionally. Having your phone helps, since you can kinda keep from being bored with it. And take the time to rest and nap. Your body is having a huge fight right now. Rest is the best thing for it. I hope you feel better soon, that's an awful thing to be going through <3

Sorry to hear that, and I hope you recover quickly. Hospital visits are no fun, but like Puck said, play on your phone to distract yourself. Also, demand a visit from a dog.

Oh no! Being in the hospital is no fun. It's normal to feel scared. Try distracting yourself with reading, playing on your phone, and watching movies. Don't be afraid to tell your doctors and nurses how you feel. They are there to support you physically and emotionally. I really hope you feel better soon! <3

👋 Sorry to hear about your ICU stay. Now personally I've never been in the ICU unit. But I have had chemotherapy during a hurricane and right before Rona attacked us all. the best thing I can tell you is during your stay IF your floor and Doctors allow this, Is too askif anyone you know or maybe your nurses on the floor to decorate your room. I had a close Freind of mine surprised me with a new theme every time I went in. Moving ahead I also recommend, Naming your IV pole something silly. So every time you say (pole's) name it makes you smile or giggle. request the floor's dog to Come to visit your room, when they are on your floor. Lastly, make sure you find some Nurses on the day and night shift you "click" with and ask to talk to them. You can also ask for them to visit you if they aren't on duty in the space ur in. other than that it's kind of how to not get bored to blahhh. I hope your visit is quick and healthy for you :3 ((sorry if I misspelled as I can't spell for my life :p)) Edited at July 28, 2021 08:05 PM by HiddenEquines

I agree with everything people have said and I also wanted to add if you find a nurse (or nurses) you really enjoy talking with, maybe ask them what their craziest work stories have been? When my mum worked in the ER she often had some CRAZY stories to share and they gave both of us a good laugh. Hope you get better soon <3
