Well my car is in the shop for another two or three weeks getting repaired, over hauled, and updated. Long story but the computer and everything went stupid in it. So my roommate has been nice to let me use her car as long as I drop her off and pick her up from her work. Well tonight I go to pick her up, and I park the car. I turn it off. Stupid thing went nuts and won't start up again. Somehow after I got out of the car when we popped the hood on it the damn thing locked up. Why is it these new cars can go stupid at the drop of a hat.....? Anyway a friend of ours picked us up and brought us home. Good news is I had my keys in my pocket along with my phone. However my purse, two bottled drinks, some Christmas gifts, a tin of cookies, and my roommate's purse got locked in the damn car. Good lord this day had been going good up until the car went stupid. I figured it's either the battery had a low charge and died because the key fob won't work on unlocking the car, the starter went out (But the key fob should have still worked), or the computer on the danged thing went stupid.

I have a 2017 made car, and it was having similar issues. I had to replace the battery for it to actually stop having the shit fits. Once that battery starts getting low, the car's computer system starts going to shit way before.

That's what I think is wrong with it. Hopefully its the battery and we can get it jumped in a few hours so I can get the battery replaced later today.

Cars are such a money sink. You'd think they'd be able to make them last with the technology we have. Especially because they're literally a necessity for most people. (should probably mention I know shit all about cars)

Well the good news is it was the battery that finally gave up the ghost. A friend of my roommate and I spotted us the money for the new battery, after another friend jumped the battery and checked the voltage on it. I know enough about cars to change a tire, oil, spark plugs, and change or jump start battery (But I hate working with batteries because I had one explode on me). I also know for a fact when the battery dies so does your key fob which is a good indicator that the battery is dead. I also know enough about engine sounds to know if it's the starter or alternator going bad. I also agree that cars should be built to last with all the current technology, but there's gotta be something said about older cars too. The older the car sometimes the more reliable they seem because they don't have a computer for a freaking brain. And if the computer goes stupid on a newer model...... that's a fix that's very expensive and not really worth it half the time unless you like a challenge.
