Oh lord I despise anything vampirey with a passion lol all the things Ive found that have vampires, are so alike! Like give it some uniqueness people! Its like twilight, take out the love triangle and its about a girl who moved to a town where it rains a lot. Thats basically it. And Ive found the same with horse shows/movies.
The girl finds an injured horse and is like dad let me keep it, I can fix it and miraculously, the horse somehow makes a recovery from being mentally scarred or an injury that results in the horse being permanently lame? Wrong. Thats not how it goes.

There are barely any horse movies I can stand watching. I loved Black Beauty as a small child, several versions of it, my favorite being the one with 'Beauty' narrating, but now that I know something, I know how wrong everything in those movies was. I haven't watched an actual horse show, but none of my friend irl recommend them. I know one person, who has terrible horsemanship btw, that thinks the whole bonding with a horse like in those movies works. She has a little 14 hand qh/paint cross that is a total butt. A few years ago, it threw her mom and dislocated the mom's shoulder. Her mom has scars from the surgery to put her shoulder back. This little sh*t also tossed the daughter and broke her ankle once. He has severely hurt several others as well and is bad on fences. They got him out of a killer sale. I think he was there for a reason. They still have him and he isn't much better.
I've seen movies where a kid gets a retired horse, works with him, and competes and wine with him as well. Well, this girl also did that minus the winning part. She says he runs a 16 on barrels. 16 my butt. My mare, who was 5 months bred at the time, be at him in barrels at the county fair last fall. This horse used to be a roper. She tried to do everything with him from barrels to jumping. This poor boy is 25 and has had front feet. The farrier, who was bad at his job and a family friend of theirs, told them to GALLOP him on GRAVEL and they believed him and crippled the thing. So this poor thing, who was given to them 2 years ago because they run one of those fake 'rescues', has been crippled and run into the ground and this kid still works him for several hours of fast work almost every day.
I'm running for rodeo queen at the local rodeo at the end of the month. I swear this is relevant. They chose a winner based on points. I'm pretty sure I've got a chance. There is a horsemanship pattern We have to o in the contest that is going to be worth 50 out of 100 possible points we can earn. We all practiced one after the other 3 times each. Total of 5 of us between queen and princess. The mare I was riding is the one I used at the county fair last fall. She has an April foal here. I took her away from him for 3 hours. She was the best behaved horse there and practiced the pattern perfectly each time. I was very proud of her and gave her a good reward when we got home. My point with this? My horse, who had gotten 6 months off, whipped the 4 who have been being worked with constantly all this time. She is out of shape, lazy, and not super into it, but she offered me no trouble and I didn't have my hand on the reins when we were standing still. When we got home, her and the baby we reunited, so don't worry, both are fine and happy. I might be able to link a picture some time of the practice we've been doing lately to show you all how much trust I have in this one particular horse, but it took years to get here, not the month at max they say it took on tv.
