PK,
Lol!! That sounds so good. My melatonin is vanilla and 'citrus' flavored. It works pretty good as long as I took the right dose.

But honestly my favorite experience was with an actual equestrian. I can't remember the context for the life of me, this was in 2016 so it was fairly recently, and I was meeting this woman with two thoroughbreds, an older bay and a young gray. She was saddling them up for me, using english saddle pads and a western saddle on the bay and a dressage saddle on the gray, and she handed me a bridle for the bay, which I started putting on, and then paused to readjust it because it didn't fit him. At All. When I told her this, she went, "no that's insane, these bridles are custom designed for these horses."
They were... wintec bridles.
So she lunges the gray horse and has no idea what she's doing, body language all over the place, waving a parelli stick around, boasting to me about natural horsemanship the whole time while me and the bay are standing there completely unimpressed, and then I got on the bay while she got on the gray to kinda show off, and she trotted around a bit while the horse is throwing his head in the air like a llama and she's off balance and it was a hot mess, and then got off and she held the bay while I got on the gray.
Honestly, I loved the gray. He was young, and super confused, and I just sat there and played with the reins a bit and got him on the bit and trotting around. I did a sitting trot to help collect him more, and he was learning it really quickly so I asked for a canter and he had a beautiful little transition, and then we went back to the trot and I stayed sitting because he was really comfortable and I found it easier to collect him that way.
Then as we trotted by the owner and her husband, I heard the husband ask why I was sitting while she'd been posting, and she said,
SHE FREAKIN SAID,
"oh, posting is more advanced."
I still laugh about it to this day, though I hope she sold the gray. He deserved better.

My and sister were hanging out in the back pasture when some people walking past the farm stopped and started asking about the horses, which were a collection of retired Quarter Horses and a few pinto Arabian crosses and the paso fino. My favorite question was "do you race them?"
Being the little shit I am, I threw my arm over the paso and was like "yep, this one won the Kentucky Derby."
They were in AWE.

lmfao, i love this

I have been asked numerous times if I was going to put the harness on the horse's head XD
-
One of my great uncles asked me if I do the thing where I jump over obstacles or if I do rodeos lol
-
My grandma asked me if I was going to feed the horses a flack of hay
-
I have also been asked why I am punishing my horses and making them blind (they were wearing fly masks) LOL

I had two electricians come to install lights in my horse barn. The stalls had salt blocks in them. They both asked me, "Are those crystals?" (They did not fully speak English) I said, "No, they're salt blocks. The horses lick them to get their vitamins and minerals." They didn't understand me. The whole time they were working, they kept a close eye on the salt and tried to stay as far away as possible! They were literally afraid of a salt block! Hahaha XD

Also at a horse show, as I was in the show rang, I heard someone in the stands ask if my Haflinger pony was a foal. I was thinking, "Heck no, she's 22!" X,D

Haha, I had an entire ARGUMENT with my history teacher about whether or not horses can see when wearing flymask. She has literally never ridden. Ive also had a couple idiot friends say "You kick the horse and yank the sharp spike to steer them." Like, cmon 🤦🏼‍♀️ (Lol Clear on a side account haha)

One of the most ridiculous things that a non-horse person has said to me was this;

"I hope that now that you're older, you realize that your dream of riding horses has passed and that you have found something more reasonable." - Rich Great Aunt that lives in Cape Cod...

Needless to say, I don't talk to her anymore. I had nothing but problems with that woman from day one.

Horse people have told me...
-a horse only has so many "runs" in his entire life
-women shouldn't lift feed bags, it'll mess up their reproductive system
-I should sell my main boy (draft cross I've owned for years and trained, this horse is basically tailored specifically to how I ride and takes an experienced hand to keep in line) because "I need to move to a faster horse and someone else could benefit from how good he is". Wish I'd told her where she could shove it but oh well
- (same woman as above) "You can't use that training halter to load him!! What if you're out in a pasture to load him and don't have one?!"
-"when do they grow to be full size?" (regarding a pony skull I was showing to a woman who has a PhD and works as an anatomy professor. she never understood that ponies are small forever)

"ponies are baby horses"
"you use a whip? that's animal abuse!"
"you just sit there"
"it's dangerous, you're going to get hurt"
"I thought that was just a guy thing. I mean, where are the female cowboys?"

this was all the same person about a year ago, a "friend" of mine :P this was more of an arguement than a conversation, and I'm a very quite person so that's saying something.

At the barn, where I used to stall my horses. There was a lady who owned 2 TB mares. That she used for polo. I had a little paint gelding, that "fell in love" with her mares. And she came up to me one day. To tell me if my gelding got her mares pregnant. I would be paying for an abortion for her mares. Lol This woman was a professor at a local college. And taught rocket science. 🤯
I At 17 years old had to explain that she didn't have to worry about having any little TB/paint horse babies 😂🤣😂
