Amhain Dull Liath said: Thank you! He does have a lot of hair in the cheek/throatlatch/chin area so it's thinner than it appears. Do you not think he'll even out with the downhill bit? I usually see horses his age a little butt high.
Yes, likely he will! ^^

This is my Off Track Appendix, meaning he was racing bred. He is fourteen years young and we do a mix of eventing and dressage, but right now he's just a fat winter trail pony (this is a summer pic from when he was looking a bit fancier). Anyway, let me know what you think! Bonus points if you have any ideas as to what the heck his markings are; he isn't appy and they seem too large and patchy to be birdcatcher spots :?

Fenn, this horse....this horse is quite literal one of the best conformations I've seen! He might be a tad long in the pasterns, but he's good boned, balanced, well muscled, short backed, he's got a good neck. His legs are simply lovely! Good shoulder (it looks good here. I don't have a protractor so... XD) about the same angle as his pasterns, so that's good! His hip angle looks a tad steep but looks overall okay. I'd really, really love to see some pictures of his rear legs and a front view on him. Fenn, I straight up love your horse! XD As for the markings, older horses going into their teens sometimes just get grey patches. Mine is only 12 and he's getting flecky white hairs across his body. Holy! I need you!!! XD I'm definitely not a pro at conformation (if you hadn't already read my comments). Would it be alright if I learn off of you and how you pick apart horses? :D

What I've seen you say so far is actually very accurate and you explain yourself very well. I completely agree with everything you've said!
