HMH, awww! Arab ponies are just the cutest little muffins! XD

He is camped in on both ends but with some nice, straight legs. His pasterns look shorter to me, but might be because of the upper camera angle. Shoulder/pastern/hip angles appear alright. His neck is proportional it seems. He is nice and thick boned. Looks a lil' bit fat but I expect that from old ponies! LOL

His hooves are of concern to me though. He has very little heel (almost nonexistent). I would probably check in with your farrier on that (as long as it's not been known). Although, please do remember I'm new at this so this might be a load of hoo-ey. XD

He's nice, well balanced and with some nice good bone! Good looking old man you've got here! :D

My thoughts on Oceans boy:
-
Definitely a typically built TB, he has super long pasterns and seems to be a bit sickle hocked (could just be the way he's standing as he does seem slightly camped under). His neck is quite long and disproportionate to the rest of his body, also being quite thin. He is also slightly pointed at the croup and sloping at the wither which is normal considering him being a TB.
Overall a nice looking horse who just needs muscling. As a horse judger he would be in the mid-low ground of a sporting horse class.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. He definetly has some amazing gates to ride to HMH. As for the muscling Holly, he has definetly gained a lot of it this year, I just don't have any conformation shots or any good shots of him that aren't in motion of him from this year. I do agree though, his neck is a little weird looking in images and from the ground, but once you are on him you don't feel like you have a lot of neck infront of you.

I'd love to see an under saddle photo! I think he's a very attractive horse and I bet he moves nice with those longgggg legs haha

This is Nevada. He is a 18 (ish) year old BLM mustang. We dont ride him as he has had trauma from previous owners and hasnt recovered. He is the sweetest boy and so very handsome even if others have called him ugly! I have been told numerous times his conformation is horrific so i wanted other opinions!

Would you be looking into subdisciplines, or just trail?

Okay! :D

Trail horse conformation tends to be more broad as any horse can do it but I did find some generalized information.

Legs are the main conformation deal breaker. Stout, thick boned cannons are preferred as they provide more strength throughout the joints and legs to be pushed through the rough terrains. Shorter backed horses and good wither height should also be taken into consideration. Short backed horses have an easier time with their navigation while longer ones have a tough time. Mutton withered horses in general just have a hard time holding the saddle in plac. making it unsafe for both horse and rider on the trail.

Good muscle is often necessary, particularly throughout the legs to provide the power needed for hills and mid, etc. Lean muscled horse's are also nice though because they are capable of longer trail rides.

Hope this helps! Got it off of this nice Trail Tips blog: https://www.horsejournals.com/trail-tips-conformation-trail-horse
