Tiny thinks it's really cool to destroy blankets.
He did it to his really cute old giraffe blankie,
He started work on breaking Flame's first purple blankie,
He bites at the other horses' blankies,
He ripped the clip off of his blue blankie,
And now it looks as if he's taken a knife to his newish purple blankie
*cries*
---
Went to put more hay in the barn yesterday and found the fluff everywhere. Switched him back to the blue blanket and I'm hoping he won't break it more before his new blankets arrive. I'm actually kind of sad about it, too, because we ordered that purple blanket for Flame right before she passed away, so it was the last thing I ever got for her :/ Oh well.

Rosco is huge! His little booty is as tall as my shoulders *happy tears*
Can y'all believe he's already ten months old?! In just two months he'll be a yearling! And that also means I've already have him for four months! Man, I thought time with a baby would crawl, but he's actually growing up so darn fast. I'll blink and he'll already be two.

Anyhow, thinking of taking lil colt out for a quick walk today. Depends on if I can get my work done on time. Either way, going to try setting aside a portion of the day for cuddling all of the pons <3

Ya know what I saw when I went to feed the horses this morning?

Barn doors were wide open.

And there, right in the center of the feed room, Tiny munched on hay and grain.

I don't know how that adorable little bugger managed to unlatch the doors and slide them open. He's too short to even reach the latch, even if he stands on the stair steps, so like.. Terry or Dixie had to have helped him. Either way, one hay bale was ripped apart, two grain bins were open (luckily he was too short to reach inside the taller bins), and everything on the floor was thrown around. Tiny was nice and when I said his name he gracefully stepped out of the barn and came up to me for cuddles xD

Got hay yesterday. Cuddled with the ponies and ran with Rosco a bit while I waited for the truck to arrive.

Nothing new today. Just figured I'd say that Terry and Rosco were plopped down on the ground napping beside each other. Then after a while Dixie joined them. Twas very cute <3

I'm SO happy right now!
Ive missed playing with the ponies so much. They are my life. They're what keeps me going. Just being with them is enough, but working with them is so amazing too.

Paps and I brought Terry out to measure her for a cinch. When he left to go buy one, I hooked some reins to girlie's new leather halter and hopped on her bareback. We went walking through the yard and even found a somewhat dry spot to do a circle of trotting. It felt so amazing to be back on her. I literally might cry, I'm tearing up 'cause I missed this so much 😭
-
Unfortunately that circle of trot felt kinda off and so I had Dad trot her in hand on the gravel driveway. Can't tell what leg is bugging her, but it looks like she tweaked something during the windstorm. Isn't too bad so it should be better soon, but it's a bit of a bummer to know she's hurt :/

Welp. Guess my trailer isn't water tight. My bridles, saddles, and breastplates are covered in mold, and the joints in my bits are starting to rust. If any of y'all have good suggestions for cleaning the bits without leaving a chemical taste, please let me know.

I've used vinegar for both mold and rust! You can also use a dremel tool for rust, but pick a "softer" head piece so you don't make the bit surface rough.

Thanks for the suggestion^^

Soaked my good bit in vinegar for a day and a half, then scrubbed it with a sponge under running water and scraped off the remaining rust. Covered it in veggie oil afterwards to try and prevent re-rusting. Unfortunately, there are a couple spots of the metal that got chipped off from the damage caused, but it's nothing significant and the bit is still %100 usable. My other bit doesn't appear rusty, but it's very dirty. I'll probably soak it in vinegar too. All of my washable stuff (saddle pads, polos, show coat, etc) are going in the machine for a cleaning. As for all of my leather stuff, I brought everything into the dry garage to avoid further molding in the trailer. We need to go to the store to buy cleaner and tea tree oil.

Ey, I have an actual little "training" update today! :)
You guys remember Hero and Daisy? If not, they're two foals over at the rescue I volunteer at. Since the sun popped out today, I went over and hung out with them for a while. Hero is an absolute love bug, and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with the nippy little floof. He's looking so great... It's so strange to imagine him as the sickly little baby he was before. As for Daisy, she's been a little wack as of late. She's suddenly become very scared of everybody, and we can barely get up to pet her anymore-- let alone halter her. Obviously this isn't great, especially since we're trying to find her a new home. So we've all been hanging out with her in a seperated pen (Hero just on the other side of the fence so she still gets equine interaction) to get her back into the groove. She's a very sweet little girl, she's just gotten herself spooked. I'm hopeful that she'll be back to normal soon, and we'll get her to her new home when spring/summer roll around <3
