I prefer cropped dobies. And honestly. I prefer docked tails. That is on thing i do not enjoy about my GSD. Her tail leaves bruises on me. But my lil aussie nubbins dont 😂

Cropping be it ears or tail for aesthetics I will never fathom why.

But cropping for working breeds or those prone to ear infections or "happy tail" I understand.

Yeah I really don't like the cropped ears on the dobbies
They look much nicer with them long
Cropping ears and docking tails are illegal here anyway unless it's for a medical reason

I agree with Cropping and docking as long as done by a professional vet

Celeste he looks so much like the family dog we used to have named Tig! She was awesome

Slope back is a BYB term. There is no such thing. It is the stance in which they stack that causes them to "slope."

Here's another Horze crank bridle I forgot to include. This one's cheaper but still good. Also the brow and can be removed.

I love the Schockemohle Bridle, I think I am going to put my money into saving for it. Thanks!

1. I would definitely recommend some sort of hard shell open front boots for him. If he has a bad habit of kicking himself, he's going to need more protection on his fronts than regular brushing boots or polo wraps would allow for. A good, quality, but inexpensive brand of open front boots is the Horze ones (I'll link below). They're very good quality for the price, easy to clean, durable, come in many colors, and very protective of the back tendons. My trainer puts them on his half a million dollar show jumpers for schooling, if that makes you feel any more comfortable.

2. As for the saddle, do you know the year? Or have a guess of when. The prices seem to vary depending on how old they are. Also, are the panels in good condition, no cracking, and do they need to be reflocked? That can greatly affect the price.

Thank you! I will look into those. As for the saddle, no idea how old it is... It was bought used in 2013 if that helps at all... Panels in good condition, minor scratching but no cracking, do not need to be reflocked.

Oh, I forgot to add, he may also need a pair of bell boots if he's overstepping onto his coronet. They'll just protect his hooves from getting hurt. I personally really like the Davis bell boots, they're easy to clean and have never come off while riding. The Horze bell boots are also pretty good, but a bit thicker.

I think a fair price for the saddle would be between 400-600$. If it's older, it's not worth as much as the newer ones, and probably not as in such a pristine condition. I would say 400$ for just the saddle, probably upwards of 500$ for all the stuff included. I would list it for 600$ first, and then if it doesn't sell, keep decreasing the price by 50$ until you get down to 400. I'm not too familiar with Siegfried saddles so I'm just going based on what I know.

Random update: I have purchased some bell boots for the baby as they are inexpensive. I have polo wraps I forgot about, so using those until I have the $$ to buy boots/he is working enough to warrant needing them

Do you have any recommendations on dressage saddles under $1,500?
and what do you think of the Prestige Optimax dressage saddle overall? and how much do you think it would be worth? it would be like from 2006 with no cracks and minimal wear on outer fenders/flaps.

Look on tack sales pages on Facebook, you can get great deals on saddles. I'm actually selling my saddle for 1500 if you're interested. As for the Optimax, I would list it for 1200 and see what you get. Prestige saddles aren't super high demand, but I think you could at least get 900 for it.

I would definitely get a shimmable one. You can always put more padding in the back. One that's good is the Mattes rear riser pad, though it's a bit expensive. A cheaper alternative is an ECP shimmable half pad, you can put more shims in the back to rise the saddle. There's also the option of foam riser pads, they're cheap and work well for swaybacks.

I found the Mattes ones they look great. I think I will go to my local tack store to see if there is one I could try.
