mineola, ratings cost, but if you sell a well rated horse, you get a lot of ebs, color are cheap, but when you sell them you don't get so much

Mineola it depends on you and what you want to do.
Color breeding is fun. Ratings breeding is challenging. (RF is a bitch)
Both is harder because color + RF ratings = emotional damage

depends on what ur aiming for i think

And I would also use Ivory dish soap instead of a traditional horse wash.

I showed a flea bitten tobiano and a black and white tobiano for years, these always worked. Use a stiff brush to really scrub it in. Leave the quick silver on for a little while to let it soak in and work then rinse.

There's a purple (literally it's purple) shampoo that's awesome for this. I have to keep 4 stockings clean for shows, and it works great. Put it on, and leave it for about 10 minutes. You can get it at feed stores. Good luck!

I agree with Jeri, Quic Silver is the way to go. For smaller, less tough stains, Id reccomend Cowboy Magic Greenspot Remover, and I think Showsheen has a similar product. The stuff is pure magic. I swear by it.

Clipping and then scrubbing. I use Ivory soap with a bit of betadine and it works pretty well. QuicSilver works, too. I try to clip socks and stockings every 2 months. I refuse to own another gray or pinto again, because I don't have the patience for body clipping more than 2 times a year, ha!

I used to have the same problem with my old trainer's pinto! Here's what we used to fix it:

You can either wash him, and instead of whatever shampoos you use, soak Dawn Dish Soap in water and scrub the spots with that. Scrub it hard enough that it comes out, but not hard enough to make him uncomfortable. Always scrub after it sits on the horse's body for 2-3 minutes. It worked on my trainer's paint, and her legs were bright yellow!

We also tried a cheap product called Cowboy Magic Yellow Out. It works very well. Again, rinse, apply, let sit for 4-5 minutes this time, and then scrub and rinse. Scrub gently, for it will already be imbedded in the skin and fur.

I hope this helps:)
