So my horse is generally very sweet to me, and he's very good under saddle for new people, but on the ground, he DOES NOT take people he doesn't know well very well at all. He was abused, and it takes FOREVER to get his trust. I have had him for 3 years, and he still isn't even sure about my dad. He gets nippy and snotty and starts to bite and left 2 holes in my dad's leg after he bit him. There is a bunch of new horseless kids in my 4H club because we just started the new 4H year, and my leader wants me to show initiative and volunteer him to be ridden around by them, which I have no problem with, but it's getting to the riding that scares me. I am the second oldest in my club now, and she just made me apply for a bunch of rotary awards, and has been putting a lot of pressure on me to be just like the oldest in our club. SOMEONE HELP

One of the horses I used to own was very scared of people going near his face. Personally here is my advice, have the horse connect new people with good things. For my horse, I had someone walk up next to him, on my side, and once he relaxed I gave him a treat. We slowly worked it up and eventually over a few days, he let anyone touch all of his face. It was amazing! Your horse definitely sounds a lot more scared than mine was though.

He is your horse and you have a right to say no if it is going to stress your horse. It sounds like it would only do more harm than good and she should respect that

You could get his used to new people if he like a particular treat and get him comfortable and used to new people throught that way to see new people are good not bad
