Let's be honest-- I'm pretty loud. I don't shut up. So if you've been around HEE for more than a few days, there's a high chance you've seen me rambling about the horses I hang about with on the daily. A lot of y'all seem to like keeping up with everyone, so I'm here making a thread (hopefully more organized than the last one...) to post information, updates, and pictures. A bit of training will be included as well. 👌

If you don't know what I do, or you'd like a refresher, then here's the section for you.
I am a three day eventer. I've been an exercise rider for multiple horses and I own four of my own. One is a mini, one is a yearling, and one is an old pasture pet, so they don't do much, but the last is a newbie mare that I've been training these last two years from when she was just green trail-broke. She's currently working toward being an eventer and hopefully my yearling will follow her path once he's older.
I do all of my training and care by myself and my horses are stationed at my house.

That is, besides one, who is currently at the rescue a few minutes away being an adoptive mother for an orphan filly. Which brings me to my next.. Thing. I volunteer at a non-profit rescue that takes in mustang foals left orphaned by BLM herd management practices. We use hormone injections and such on mares (who have foaled in the past) to trick them into thinking they've gone into labor, so that they will accept the orphan as their own and even bag up a bit. (They don't get enough milk to feed the babies on their own, but the kids can still suckle). We raise and train them until they're weaned, at which point they get adopted out to trusted homes.

Some info on my horses:

Terry -- Terry is a ~15.3/16hh quarter horse eventing prospect. I've had her for two years but unfortunately have only been able to work with her for one. This last year has thrown me some issues which prevented me from training at all. But we are currently coming back into work, building up her muscle and practicing dressage hard so that we can eventually get back to what she loves to do-- jump training. It'll be a while but she's quick to getting in gear so we should be back on a good dressage grind soon. I can't wait to continue progressing her, she has so much talent and is a real fun ride when she knows what she's gotta do.
Personality wise, Terry is pretty cool to be around. She'll play around with you in the pasture and likes a good cuddle every so often. She is usually really great at listening and staying where you need her, and she'll do a lot of things at liberty for you without even a flinch. Although smart, she seems to think she's still a baby and'll act quite silly sometimes. Her favorite thing ever is apples, and lucky her, there are two apple trees in the pasture that she chows down all at once as soon as the apples appear. Yeah, we've never been able to taste test one of those apples. She eats them too quick. And then theres slobber trails all around the hill for a lil while.
A few fun facts:
-Her ass is gigantic
-She wears front shoes
-Her stride is too big so she has to wear bell boots or she'll hurt her heels
-She is a known coyote stomper

Rosco - This is my yearling. I do not have him measured yet. He was one of the rescued mustang foals early last year and I've known him since he was two months old (he's about 17 months now). Rosco likes to be mean to me and constantly change his hair and coat colors, never at the same exact time. I have no idea what he's going to be. Anyhoo, he knows all the things a kid his age needs to and is currently working on being desensitized to more things (as of right now, fly spray, hoses, and tarps). He won't start anything more difficult until he's closer to two and I won't be getting on him at all until he's three. But I do have a feeling that he's going to love when he can start cross country in the distant future, cause he's always running up and down the steep sides of the hill, weaving through the tree patch, and jumping over the stumps and rocks. He'll take any chance he gets to have fun with XC-esque things.
Diving more into personality stuff, this dude is a mischeivous lil thing. He's always looking for something to take in his mouth to toss around, head flick, run away with, or chew up and hide. Last time the farrier came, we did Terry in the pasture, so the other horses had access to our area... Rosco came over, tried to steal tools, and when my mom took them away and told him off he just stole the box of nails instead.. He's like a dog basically. He also loves cuddles and affection and will chill out with you all day. Also, he's always ready to play, and if you run even a little then he'll play chase/"tag" with you.
Fun facts:
-His tail has white, grey, shades of blonde, shades of red/orange, ginger, dark brown, and black in it. I thought he'd grow out of his weird tail like the other babies but he just keeps getting more colors.
-He's either roaning or greying out. I have no idea.
-He really hates oats?? Like what the fuck
-He's growing about an inch a week right now
-He insists on eating Terry's competition horse feed instead of his alfalfa pellets. Little fucker
-It is almost impossible to get pictures of him so you only get one :))

Dixie - Dixie is a 15.2hh paint pasture pet. She was a feedlot horse so we don't really know much else about her, but she surely has some arabian in her. I started riding Dixie a little bit here and there last summer and she's green broke W/T, but she's really just a pasture pet and, more recently decided, a momma. We plan to keep sending her to the rescue to mother orphans.
As for personality, Dixie is as sweet as they come. She's gentle, extremely friendly, and very cuddly. Her confidence is not very high and things can scare her pretty easily, so when she comes to trust you she will heavily rely on you for emotional support. It's taken a lot of work over the years, but we've definitely developed a deep rooted relationship and it makes me incredibly happy to say that she's slowly learning to be more sure of herself as time goes on. Dixie could never be without a buddy for long and she gets very excited when she sees someone, horse or human, coming into sight. She'll yell for you and make her way over as close as she can get! Which is really the purest dose of serotonin I can get, 'cause she used to be terrified of people and visibly worried about upsetting herdmates. Honestly, this horse gives me soo much fucking joy and I am very glad that I can finally give her her final home. I will never let her fall into someone else's hands.
Fun factss:
-She's heterochromatic! One blue eye, one brown eye
-A lot of her spots have "ghosting"
-When I first got her, her feet looked like platypus beaks
-No matter what you do, if you put a bit in her mouth she'll always find a way to get her tongue laying over it. So she always goes bitless if she's being ridden
-She is The All Consuming Goblin in winter. I sink so much grain into this horse
-But every summer she ends up looking ten months pregnant with twins, lil fatso
Tiny - This. Horse. Is 28 inches tall. Little thang. Mini horse with a not-so-mini belly. He doesn't do much, just chills out in the pasture and tries to act like a tough guy. Likes to bully Rosco but the dumbass seems to think it's affection. Tiny knows a few tricks like climb and rear and is quite talented at jumping. If I could turn him into a full sized horse, I would definitely use him as my main eventer. But, of course, the itty bitties like to be the talented ones.
This guy is super full of himself. Thinks he's the big man and the two mares are his girlfriends (even though Terry and Dixie are more couple-y than he could ever dream of being with either of 'em). If anyone takes his lady friends, he's gonna pitch a fit. Whenever the farrier comes he tries to get right up in the way to inspect the job being done-- make sure everything's going smoothly >__>. But when he decides to not give in to little man syndrome (buddy, I know we gotta compensate, but seriously, chill), he can be pretty sweet and a fun cuddle buddy. If you lean in front of him while you give pets/scratchies then he'll rest his chin on your back.
Facts:
-His best friend ever was a 33 y.o blind mini mare. They were inseperable
-I've free jumped him to about 3 feet. Never did it again though cause that's pretty high for such a tiny thing and he wasn't much o' fan.
-But he does love jumping smaller stuff
-Loves to sneak into the barn and steal food. Absolute gremlin
-Do you know how fucking hard it is to clip a horse's belly that's not even a foot off the ground
-He's also a bitch to get pictures of, except in winter?? so you get blanketed pics
