Weirdly, Delta's food to and from Japan is some of their best. I just want to know what airlines have against fresh fruit. Gimme a damn tangerine and I am so happy.

@Glacier- I thought about it but I was run off my feet. got in Saturday, grabbed dinner with my friends and worked the rest of the time. I was at the giant Merchandise Market thingy and it was... a lot. Next year I might build in a day for fun but this one I just didn't have the energy or time. (At least I didn't have to do the bad food indifferent company client dinners this time.) I was staying at the Nugget and even with a mask the weed and the smoke were making me cough. Got a gorgeous sushi dinner at Umiya, though!

Virgin do this really nice sandwich lunch with some truffles at the end - I always steal my brothers when we're out 😂 really nice. Dinners and breakfasts are often awful though. I fly about 12 times a year and those lunches have never missed

Air NZ plane food is usually pretty decent. Qantas plane food is terrible though lol

Most times I fly on a plane, I bring grocery store snacks with me. One time I had a huge bag of jelly belly jelly beans

I've flown quite a few times throughout my life, have family overseas and such. Never gets any easier for me. I'm always okay right up until I remember I'm 30k feet in the air in a giant metal tube.

And yeah, I too avoid the plane food. If possible I usually just fast until my feet are on the ground of the final destination.

The one in dc was a military issue. They had a helicopter in the wrong place - I normally fly from Dulles (incredibly close to the crash today) and the accident that happened was a complete freak issue. I can agree, though, airline food is awful. I'm normally with Virgin though and their lunches are gorgeous

I have been on tons of planes too and have never been afraid until I saw this accident that happened last night. Totally could have been avoided and should not have happened.

I'm nervous about plans too Revel.

I have a New York trip planned in august, and I'm terrified of flying. Especially right now. But from where I am, a train or car would take a minimum of 4-5 days (of non-stop travel).

@Revel; put it in perspective. Roughly 40K people a year die in car accidents. Plane crashes are incredibly rare and tragic, so we hear more about them. Statistically, more people are killed by donkeys per year than airplanes. (Airline FOOD, now, that's a whole other risk. I just flew in from vegas last night and my stomach may never be the same.)
