I mostly just name each horse with part of my stable name.

I go with the parents names or themes. Or based on TV series/movies. Or random things by asking mr google. When I started my bravery horses I searched 'most difficult climbs' expecting, Everest & K2, but instead it gave me the most difficult bike ride climbs e.g Zonoclan, still a name in the herd. I look up famous people too.

I name my horses based on derby race horse names and usually mixed them up depending on what they look like or sometimes base it off the parents in some way possibly. But it is usually regular derby horse names mashed together and most of the time I make my own.

It depends on my mood. . I prefer to base it on the names of the parents, but that doesn't always work on repeat breedings. . If I'm being lazy, I'll base it on their genes. One of my best SD horses was named Gold Rabi. If one horse has a gene combo asked for in a quest, I'll give it a name with a play on that. . I watch TB racing frequently (I'm watching the post parade for a race from Turf Paradise right now). If I see a name I like as I'm naming horses, I'll use that - it will NOT, however, be a famous name like Secretariat, Seattle Slew, or Northern Dancer. That's not my style. . I'll name some horses after baseball players. Both Masahiro and Tanaka Tuesday were named after Masahiro Tanaka, who pitched for my Yankees (the horses with either Masa, Tana, or Tanaka in their names are descended from him). . Horses with high bravery ratings (W or E) tend to have Brave in their names - it's easier to find them when I want to breed for Bravery. . I might use a song title if it's short enough - Badlands, Backstreets, Born to Run (guess who my favorite singer/band is). Edited at January 21, 2025 03:56 PM by Mallery Show Stables

My stable name comes from a family grouping on the renaissance festival circuit, so my horses are all named things found at a renfaire or renfaire adjacent, and occasionally inspired by a cat in my house or something that just happened in my life.
I started using Greek names on my Bravery horses to differentiate. Edited at January 21, 2025 04:19 PM by Gypsy Family Farm

I have a list of names in my stable notes that I add to regularly, and it's a mix of show/book characters, song titles from artists I like, gods/godesses, irl killer whale names, and a few random ones that just sound nice. My boys Makani is named after a real killer whale, and Audubon after a song. Edited at January 21, 2025 04:49 PM by Kiwi Mountains

Sometimes I do it based on the parent's name; other times I use what family line they came from or songs.

Cadence Farms said: Everybody has different ways of naming their horses. What's your method? I usually base my names off of musical terms or a combo of the parents name
