7 Days before the incident.
Ring, ring, ring. "Oh for god's sake." I pull the blankets off my bed as I get up, still groggy from the night before, and slightly angry because of the news I was given. Both my parents had told me that in two weeks they were going on a seven day long cruise on a big, fancy cruise ship, while I got stuck with my aunt at her house. While I made my bed and brushed my teeth, I thought about what I was going to do at my aunt's house. Sure, my aunt and two cousins who live there are nice and all, but there's nothing really interesting to do. Unless I bring my laptop and phone. I grab my laptop and my phone, along with the appropriate chargers, my toothbrush and sensitivity toothpaste, my blanket, my purple pillow, and an extension cord so I can charge my phone and my computer at the same time. Feeling prepared for when my parents leave, I finish making my bed, I go down the stairs, and feed our fish. After the fish are fed, I open the door to the pantry and grab a mini box of Rice Krispies cereal. The sugar is sitting where it always is, beside the kettle, so I grab that and a spoon too. I sprinkle a little sugar on my cereal (okay, fine, a lot), pour in the milk, and begin to eat. Once my cereal is done, I place the empty bowl beside the sink and head back up to my room.I forgot to turn off the light in my closet. I open the closet door a crack and peep through the gap, I hate my closet. The place creeps me out. My closet is a big, square, walk in closet with many shelves and bins. On the very top shelf, there is a set of Five china dolls, all still in the original packaging. Three of them, all in boxes, are stacked one on top of the other, the other doll in a box is propped up on the wall facing the outside so you can see her, the last doll, a large collectors doll sitting on a miniature version of a childrens rocking horse is in a clear foil bag. That doll was haphazardly tossed up there when we moved in, so it lays face down.I open the closet door the rest of the way, and look around. The closet is big enough for me to stretch out my arms completely, and still have an inch or two left on both sides before I touch the walls. I stick my head in and turn to face the inside, since the light switch is on the left side of the door when you come in, you have to bend around the door to hit the switch. Once the light is off, I take one more look, and shut the door.I enter my brothers bedroom and nearly choke on the scent of fresh paint. My brothers bedroom walls have just been repainted, the white sideboards retouched. A large Oilers mural stared at me, I left the room, I was getting a headache from that stupid paint smell. My mother called from downstairs, “Em, would you grab me a Pepsi from the fridge in the basement please? It's in the bar.”Great. I hate the basement. My dad is a hunter, and because of that he decided to put the cured head of his first deer on the wall behind the bar. Our basement has a weird layout, one you go down the stairs you turn to your left to get into the main hall. After you step over a bump that signals the change from tile to hardwood, you can see that the bar is to the left in front of you, and to your right there is a large couch that folds out into a guest bed. Then, when you get to the bar there is a small hallway with a door to my father's “Hunting room,” that is the place where he keeps his bows and rifles, we also have a meat freezer in there. At the end of the hall is a door leading to a very creepy spare bedroom, the lights in there have been dimmed with years worth of dust, and the mirror is caked with smudges and fingerprints. We have a lot of moving boxes in there, and the bed has been striped of blankets and sheets. There is another walk in closet, this one about half the size of mine, and the closet in this room is an odd triangular shape. There is a single metal bar across the top half of the closet, probably for clothing hangers, I decided.As I examined the closet, I noticed that all the water pipes in the small space were visible, whereas in the rest of the house the pipes are hidden beneath the house and in the walls. I left the room to explore the bar. My dad had a large bunch of deer skulls in the room, including a deer that was intact from the shoulders up. That thing creeped me out, the eyes on the deer seem to follow you as you move about the room. I swear sometimes I see his muzzle moving.I grab the Pepsi for my mom and turn off the lights as I dash up the stairs. I hand the Pepsi to my mother. “Thanks, Em.” She says, but I am already back in my room. I flip through my Social Media accounts, and decide to plug in my phone. Once my phone is charging, I head back into the basement. I grab what I need to make some cake for myself, and I head back upstairs. I put the ingredients out on the counter, and begin to mix the batter. Once the batter is done, I grease the pans with butter, and pour the delicious mixture into the baking trays. I then slip them into the oven, and watch them bake.

The acctual book has paragraph indents, spaces after periods, and proper novel format, the forums just wont let me post that here though xD

I LOVE that! I wish there was more, as I am an avid reader, and hate not being able to finish good stories 0^0
