Welcome to Dandelion Rescue Ranch! Here at Dandelion Rescue Ranch (DRR), we rescue abandoned farm animals and give them forever homes. Each animal has its own backstory, personality description, and list of traits. Most of the animals sheltered here at the DRR are horses, though there have been some chickens, ducks, rabbits, and other creatures that have found a home after the DRR. BREEDING Breeding is allowed! The DRR’s breeding facility offers public studs, live covers, embryos, and straws. A mare can be bred up to 10 times during her life (one per year starting at age five). Each stallion can be bred up to five times per year for ten years, starting at age five. You may own both mare and stud to breed, but the DRR breeding facility has studs. Using other player studs is not allowed as of right now, but may change later on. If a purebred foal is born, you will receive the foals papers AND a breeding certificate! Sadly, genes are not included so every coat color and pattern is randomly rolled based on the foals parents. Traits are improved by adding the parents traits and dividing by two. If the parents are not the same breed but have one or more of the same discipline than that discipline will be averaged. The ones that do not match will be started at 3 points. Personality and Temperament is inherited from the parents. Twins are possible but extremely rare. TRAINING The DRR offers training sessions which can begin at any time. To train you must hire a horse trainer. There are always three different professional trainers that are available at all times. Each trainer has riders that ride your horse for you. The training sessions allow you to improve your horses traits for better showing. When training, your horse goes through a series of tests. At the end of the session, the trainer rates the horses improvement in traits and if there is any showing temperament changes. Trainers can improve certain traits or perform temperament training. These can be beneficial to your horse and help win more shows! WARNING! ***Some trainers have specific breeds, disciplines, or temperaments they do and don’t work with, though most do not. Be careful when hiring a trainer and be watchful for their preferences! SHOWING Shows are occasional, but they help train your horse in special breed-specific disciplines. Each horse is given disciplines that they are able to show in. For example, a pony could have Driving, Halter Class, and Low Level Jumping while a draft could have Driving, Confirmation, and Pleasure Riding. A horses traits and personality will give them a better chance at winning the show. For example: +3 jumping trait and the Skittish (-1) temperament would give them 2 points on the wheel. (3 - 1). A horse with the +3 jumping trait and the Proud (+1) temperament would give them 4 points. Each trait originally goes up to three points but are improved by training and breeding. For each show, an online spinner will decide which horse wins based on the points. When a horse is entered in a show they automatically get one point toward their show (this point is removed after the show ends) each trait and temperament point adds another slot on the wheel, giving your horse a higher chance at winning. Only one horse from each stable is allowed to show at a time unless otherwise specified. If there are multiple shows within one discipline then DIFFERENT horses may be entered.
