Great Pyrenees are such beautiful dogs.
It really sucks that people have such stereotypical views on certain dog breeds, even though it's never the breed's fault.
Our old english staffy, who never hurt a fly, even when he was old and small, we would still have people crossing the street to stay away from him.

I definitely agree.
I did alot of socializing with my dog when he was a puppy. Mostly because I knew he'd be over 100 lbs.

The only place he's aggressive is in the back of the truck when he's tied in. He doesn't like strangers approaching.

I mean Great Pyrenees were originally bred to fight bears and wolves while protecting flocks of sheep. Yes, breeds have certain dispositions, but half of it is still in the training.

Oh IÂ’m just saying imo I think the bullies are great if they were bred for hog hunting and given that as a job. But to refer to the breed when you google them as Â“nanny dogsÂ” is very wrong

I want to just say. My dog comes from hog hunting stock. Just because he's been breed for that doesn't mean he's got a bad temperament.
He's got ton of energy and he's highly prey driven when it comes to small animals

Yeah they're walking vet bills. Breathing problems, hip dysplasia, elbow issues, terrible joints, temperament issues etc. Pretty short lifespans as well because of all the health problems

Yeah, they're different breeds. I think American Bulldogs are healthier than pitts from my experience

KPH, the excuse I've heard is that they look big and bad and the price for them can range from 6k to 25k or more. I could put run them while walking because they'd collapse after walking 3 steps from exhaustion....
