The default is eventing riders - if you've changed your horse to a specialty, then when you hire a new rider they'll be in that specialty. So you either need to create a new rider for E, or change your horse to E, hire rider, and then change back to specialty. :D

Squid is an example - he is level 9 in cross country, 8 in jumping, 7 in drsg, and in Eventing he is an 8. (see box under rider) -HEE Click-

It's why horses show eventing above their levels for dressage, jumping & cross country - it's their overall score between the three events :)

eventing does all three events, so your rider is more evenly balanced between the three events
