Aziel listened as the doctor spoke, his fingers rubbing against his temples. After everything the last few days, he was starting to finally get a headache, espeically since he hasn't had much food and water recently. He is surprised that Sage is six months along. He looks like he would only be a few months along with who he looks and the state that his health is in. He wasn't that surprised when the doctor didn't seem convinced that the baby would survive and if it did, it would have multiple problems. He hopes that his body would naturally have a miscarriage, but he has a feeling that might not exactly happen.
"Okay. If he wakes sometime soon, I will fetch you and we can talk about this with him. He deserves to know everything and his options if he doesn't already." He said with a sigh. He nodded his head, giving the doctor an appreciated smile. "Thank you for everything as usual, doc." He mumbled before the doctor exited the room.
He glanced back at Sage, his head leaning against his hand as his elbow rested against the armrest. He wonders if he will wake up anytime soon or not. He hopes not because then he could actually get rest for once without having to worry about whatever happens when he is with Casper. As he was thinking of what to say to Sage and the events that have happened in the last few days, he soon drifted off to sleep.
~~~~~~~
He woke up in the early morning before the sun rose above the mountains. He glanced at Sage, seeing that he was still peacefully resting in his sleep. He got up, his arms raising above his head as he stretched. He heard his muscles pop, a groan leaving his lips as he was already feeling better after sleeping in an awkward position. He knows that his father is already awake and should probably tell him about the events that happened so they can figure out what to do. They should also do it to ensure that no one tries to sneak in and harm either of them.
He took one last look at Sage before he made his way out of the infirmary. He will be back to check on him later after his meeting. He walked down the halls, seeing maids and other nobles starting to fill space to carry on with their duties for the day. He smiled at them, glad to finally be back and see his people. They all would muttered a 'good morning' and 'welcome back' as he passed by them. He thanked them, knowing that they are relieved that he is finally back. He knows they are probably wondering what happened to him, but he is hoping it doesn't leak out what happened anytime soon.
He soon made it to his father's study and knocked on the door. He entered once he heard his father say come in. His father was sitting at the desk, his head bent as he was reading over some papers that is in his hands. He had salt and pepper hair that was slicked back with a gold crown embedded with emeralds and diamonds resting on top of it. He looked eerily similar to Aziel himself, minus the forest green eyes he has. Obviously, his father was older as well and has wrinkles adnoring his face due to age.
"Aziel." He greeted as he set his papers down and looked at him. "I figured you would be coming this morning. What exactly happened?"
Aziel sat down in the chair, crossing his legs at the ankles and threading his fingers together on top of his stomach. He shrugged his shoulders. "Don't know the reason for the kidnapping before you ask." He grumbled as he looked up at his father. He knows he would ask that, so he said it first before anything else. "I got kidnapped going to the school. Not sure exactly where I was since I was injected with some medication that knocked me out. All I know is I woke up in a cell." He started to explain. He is making sure he chooses his words carefully. "The man, Casper, was the one behind it. He never explained anything. I said some things that I shouldn't have and he ended up not giving me food or water. No lashings or anything like that. Just some raw wrists from the shackles."
His father listened intently, his eyes narrowing slightly when he didn't continue on. "Alright." He said, seeming to try and figure out how to word his next question. "What about the man in the infirmary that you brought? You know we don't allow people behind our walls without intensive background checks and monitoring." He explained, wondering what the reason was to bring Sage here.
Aziel sighed and looked away, hoping that Sage would be left out. He knew better than to hope. "He helped me escape. He was then getting beat up by Casper for letting me out. I couldn't leave him to succumb to his injuries and go back to that man." He explained, hoping that would help. He is hoping that doesn't mean he will tell the guards to cast Sage out.
The king sighed as he nodded his head. "Very well." He stood from his chair and rounded the desk to stand in front of him. "He can stay until he is healed. I will have the captian interrogate him once he is starting to feel better. If there is anything that he does wrong, I won't hesitate to throw him in the cells."
Aziel nodded his head, showing that he understood everything he is saying. "Understood, father." He stood up and started to walk to the door. He only stopped when his father called out to him.
"I will not have this happen again, Aziel." He started as he crossed his arms over his chest. "From now until I deemed it safe, you will always have some guards go with you when you go to town. I wanted this all along, but you seem to be so careless with your life. I don't want you to end up dead, especially since you are going to be taking over eventually."
Aziel grabbed the knob of the door, a muscle in his jaw popping with annoyance. "Yes, father." He said, knowing that he can't argue against him nor did he have the energy to do so right now. "We can talk about what to do later as well."
He quickly left the room before his father could say anything else, not wanting something to be said that shouldn't. He noticed that the sun was now starting to highlight the sky. Hopefully Sage is going to wake up soon or he might have to get the doctor. He just wants to make sure that he is somewhat okay and be there in case he wakes up in a panic when he isn't there.
Once he started to get close to the infirmary, he heard some noises coming from it. He had a feeling that Sage finally woke up and is panicking on where he is. He quickly opened the door, knowing that he probably should've been careful doing so but didn't think better of it. The next thing he knew, he felt something sharp slice down his arm. He jumped back slightly before quickly taking the syringe out of Sage's hand before he hurt either one of them more.
"Sage, calm down." He said after he put the syringe down and put his hands up in the air. "You are safe here in my kingdom. Please calm down or you are going to hurt yourself even more." He said as he glanced over his injuries, hoping that he didn't tear anything open. He could feel blood dripping down his own arm but didn't care. "Besides, you are bleeding down your arm since you ripped the IV out." He said as he gestured towards the blood dripping down Sage's own arm.
