Sage heasitated before sighing slightly and accepting the jacket, pressing it against himself and sagging against the bushes wearily. He watched the girl as she settled down beside him, looking over at the snacks she set out for him. "I...can't eat those things any more," he noted softly, though he did reach for the water bottle. He still needed that, though food wise if he ate human food it just wouldn't do anything. So he may as well leave those for her. She could actually use them. He just settled down against the bushes he was leaning against, half zoning out in exhaustion. Her question pulled him back to the present though, and he turned to blink at her, trying to figure out how to respond to that. "It was Sage," he noted. "Before I....became this," he added just looking down at his hands. "I'm not sure I deserve that name anymore." Not that he knew anything else to go by. He really wasn't sure how to go about ll this still.

~ I nodded slightly. Then looked up when he said his name, sage, she thought. How...unique! "I like that name. Why do you think you don't deserve it, everyone needs a name." I grinned and talked softly. No one should feel this way. She put the snacks away one by one and then kept drawing the scene on her worn down notebook, still listening, and pausing at times to look at him. She also kept an eye on his wound, to make sure the bleeding was stopping. She saw his drowsiness and exhaustion. 'Where could I take him.' 'Where is his home' her mind kept racing with questions. ~

Sage looked back over at the girl as she spoke, letting out a soft breath in response to her question. "I'm not human anymore," he noted simply. "I'm not that person anymore. I'm .. something else." Maybe it wasn't good reasoning. Maybe he just hated what he'd become. He didn't know. She didn't seem to agree with him though, which brought a little bit of doubt to his mind. Either way, now that he'd sat there for a moment, he pulled the jacket away to check the wound. It was mostly stopped bleeding, so he shifted to hand her the jacket back. "Thank you," he noted quietly, moving to stand up, though he needed to brace himself on the trees next to him. "But I should keep moving. That hunter will double back, and I can't be here when he does."

~I sighed. "Are you sure it's safe out there?" I frowned a folded the jacket neatly. A thought popped into my head. "I could walk you back home, I can help you more with your injury?" She smiled slightly. She felt bad to leave him alone, she couldn't do that to someone who is hurt. He shouldn't be moving, he's been running for a while and she can see he's exhausted. "Also, I can tell your very tired. You need rest." I got up as he stood up, making eye contact. I put my jacket in my backpack and zipped it up quickly, then grabbing a granola bar, since she got a bit..hungry. ~

Sage just chuckled softly when she asked if it was safe. "Nowhere is safe," he noted simply. "Not anymore. Not for me." She continued talking though, asking about walking him home. He offered her a smile on return but shook his head. "Dont have one. I have to move around, keep out of the way of the hunters." He featured towards the tree line. "I've been staying in a cave a bit that way...but the hunter that was just here will double back. He knows where it's at, I can't stay there anymore." He nodded when she said he needed rest, letting out a heavy breath. "Yeah, maybe," he noted. "But I've got to find another place to rest before I can do that." He didn't know where he was going to go....and he didn't want to drag her along with him into danger. "Besides, your friends will worry if they wake and you're not back," he added, pinching his eyebrows together slightly. He didn't want that to happen either.

~my smile faded,knowing he was right, but I couldn't leave him alone.~
"Ill go with you, my friends don't care." I looked up at him, knowing he might say no, but I can surely hold myself up in a fight. "I can fight sage." She smiled at him. "Let's go to the cave and settle in, Ill keep watch while you sleep." She put her backpack back on her back and swung it around. "I also brought a blanket in here, it is getting cold out." She held her arms across her stomach and hunched over slightly. "But anyways, im not taking no for an answer, lead the way." ~

Sage paused for a moment, thinking, as the girl said she would come with him and keep watch. He barely knew her, but for some reason, he did trust her. So, he sighed with a nod, shifting to start walking towards the old cave. "Fine," he noted. "But only because I'm not sure I can make it very far right now." He doubted he could find another cave before he collapsed completely from exhaustion. The cave was only about ten minutes away from where they were at, thankfully, so once they got there, he sort of just flopped down in the corner on the cold, hard rock. He'd gotten mostly used to that by now, he supposed. He couldn't do much more than that....his eyes were already drifting shut despite trying to stay awake.
