Caleb pulled into the logn, gravel driveway to 'Rose Ranch' and sighed. He'd been a ranch-hand for long enough to know a place by their enterance. There was fencing lining either side of the road, showing they used every bit of space they could. He pulled up and parked his trailer next to the other trailers and hopped out

Rose Ranch had been in her family for years, or so Josephine had been told. It had been passed down for around four generations now, and would quietly be hers one day, if she wanted it. She was sitting on the swing in their front porch reading when she heard someone pulling up. Their new ranch hand. Apprehensively, Josephine closed her book and stood up, watching as the man got out. Her father came outside to greet him and Josephine followed quietly behind. "You must be Caleb. I'm Andrew Hastings and this is my daughter, Josephine," Andrew introduced, soon extending a hand out towards the young man for him to shake if he chose to do so.

Caleb shook the man's hand and nodded politely at the woman. "Nice to meet you, sir" He said, smiling.

"You as well. I'm sure you'd like to get settled in," He smiled before looking at Josephine, who had yet to speak. "Josie. Will you show him around and let him know where to take his things?" He asked her, though the look in his eye said it wasn't really a choice. "Of course.. Whenever you're ready, and if I can help please let me know," she said softly when she turned her gaze to Caleb, her arms wrapped loosely around herself.

Caleb smiled softly at her, recognizing the tension in her posture. "Sure. Could you grab that backpack in the bed?" He asked, grabbing a duffel bag and slinging it over his shoulder. He followed her to the hand's quarters, setting down his bag.

His smile seemed to ease her a little bit but not by much. "Sure," she nodded, moving to the bed before grabbing the backpack. She showed him to his quarters, setting down the backpack once we were there. "It should be ready for you, but if there's anything you need you can always track down my parents or me," she told him as she turned her attention to him.

"Thanks. Josie, right?" He asked politely. He nodded to her, smiling genuinely and sitting on the bed
