Charlotte Smith 22 years old Usually serious but can occassionally be a bit of a goof and sometimes a bit distant too. Hides feelings well. She started in a non-equestrain family working her butt off trying hard to prove she could make it. She worked hard and did prove them by winning barrel championships left and right. She lost her barrel horse, Sabie. She started reining to cope but hasn't been the best since her old horse died. Currently training Kylie. She has also been trying to work on being quiet since she lost Sabie. --------------------------------------------------------- Kylie Kay (A Silver Hotrod) Dappled Grey mare Age 10 Usually pretty problematic, but a goof. She is really sweet for a mare. Was abused by her first owners, sold to Charlotte and has been training in reining since. Jaden waited in the starting gate, standing in his stirrups while he readjusted his reins. "Easy Loki, we got it bud." He murmured to his horse, patting his neck while he waited on the last few horses to be loaded. Once they were, the bell went off and the gates opened, his horse shooting out of them and quickly taking the lead. "Frozen Guard has taken the lead!" The announcer called, Jaden grinning as he manuvered his thoroughbred around others to stay in front. As they neared the last bend, Jaden swapped his reins to one hand and his crop in the other, tapping Loki with it a few times and allowing him to run as hard as he could. This race was big, REALLY big, over 100,000 people coming to watch. Loki ran and ran, hooves thundering on the turf as he crossed the finish line. "And RF Frozen Guard and Jaden Ortiz have won it! They have won the Tulsa Derby!" The announcer yelled, Jaden grinning as he slowed the manchado to a trot and pumped his fist in the air. |

Charlotte stood eagerly in the stands. She had bought the best seat she could afford. It was a seat box close to the track. She watched the horses zoom by, flinging dirt and dust and mud everywhere. "Frozen Gaurd has taken the lead!" tha announcer sped through his words like an auctioneer. "And RF Frozen Gaurd and Jaden ortiz have won it! Thay have won the Tusla Derby!" Charlotte stood up so fast the seat snapped up, but she didn't notice. Her and 100,000 other fans, derby ladies and gents, trainers, and retired jockeys alike had attended, and all stood up to applaud the jockey, Jaden Ortiz. She watched the scene, his mentors celebrating ahppily in the stands above. She yelled happily, going along with the crowd. |

The horse got a sash of ribbons thrown over its withers, Jaden looking over at his section of trainers and such and grinning. The pair walked over to the winner's circle, a news anchor asking him; "Well Jaden, how does it feel to win?" She asked, Jaden chuckling. "Well, it's always something you never quite get used to--especially big races like these. Defanitely proud of this big guy, he's been working like a dog to get to the top, he deserves all the attention, I just ride this beast and he tears it up." He mused, the anchor nodding and scooting out of the way as a camera flashed brightly and captured the two at many angles. The man steered his stallion over to walk back to the barn, where two barricades had been set up on either side, fans and reporters alike all asking things at the same time. |
