"I still think that's pretty cool. Speed comes in handy" she admitted and she stood up and walked over to the fish to check it. It looked like it needed only a couple more minutes and it would be done. "That's how I caught the fish so fast. I used my wolf. It comes in handy because my wolf is faster and smarter and I can eat food raw too. It's how I have been surviving this whole time." Cassidy sat down in front of the fire to keep an eye on the fish "I normally sleep in my wolf form. It keeps me warm and it makes the ground feel a little softer" she admitted. "That's another reason why my knife is dull. It's not dull because I use it a lot but because I don't use it. Claws come in handy" she grinned.

Sage grinned. "Yeah, speeds handy, until I stop running and my body decides I'm gonna be as useless as a baby until I can eat something. I don't use it much because there's not much food to be had." He nodded. "makes sense though. If I had teeth and claws like that I'd be using them more than a dagger that's for sure." He gave her a cheeky grin. 'so what your saying is that my new companion can not only be used as a personal heater but also as a giant fluffy pillow," he teased her. If she didn't want him sleeping like that he'd be fine to settle with a fire and rock, but something soft and cozy would be nice to have.

She couldn't help but laugh "Yeah, I guess I can be used as a fluffy pillow" she never thought about it like that and it wad amusing just picturing Sage using her as a pillow. "My fur is very soft too from what I have been told. I'm small but then again I'm not done growing yet" she explained to Sage. When the fish was done, she used the wooden sticks to move it from the fire and place it on some sticks on the floor. "But being small means I'm faster. I might not be as strong but I can dodge an attack pretty quick so being smaller has it's perks" she moved away from the fish to sit back with Sage while it cooled off. "I can catch us fish everyday so we have a good meal. I can also hunt down some other wild animals if I spot any."

Sage chuckled and nodded. "I can agree that being tiny helps sometimes. I'm not exactly the biggest guy out there myself." It was true, he was underweight and small. He was slim naturally, and the lack of food only made him even lighter. He was quick though, so he knew what she was talking about. He gave Cass a grin and shrugged. "I fully plan on using you as a fluffy pillow then," he chuckled. He thought for a minute before nodding. "We'll need red meat too, though. Fish is great but only does so much. I can hunt with my dagger, but I'll have to be able to walk and climb trees and whatnot so that won't be happening for a while."

Cassidy's cheeks flushed a bright red when Sage mentioned he planned on using her as a pillow and she had to turn her head away to try and hide it. She felt the heat in her cheeks, her stomach flutter, and her heart speed up. She was young and young teenagers fell for guys too quick, especially if they were nice. When she felt the heat fade from her cheeks, Cassidy turned her attention back to Sage and she flashed her teeth at him which in fact were sharp, wolf canines. "I can catch us meals until you are healed. I can smell deer still in the area which means the zombies haven't gotten to them yet. I'm sure I could catch us a couple squirrels too."

Sage grinned and gave her a thumbs up. "Sounds like a plan to me. You hunt and I...uhhh...I have cave duties." He chuckled at that last part and poked at the fish meat. It was done so he tossed half of it to Cass and took the other half for himself. "It's done. And not too hot," he commented before nibbling on a piece of it. It was pretty good, he had to admit, and sharing food with a friend was pretty awesome too, he had to admit that.

"I'm going to shift so don't freak out. It's just easier since I can eat the bones and the guts" she warned him so he wouldn't freak out. Cassidy set the fish down and she stood up, closing her eyes and she focused on her wolf side. Slowly her bones started to break and crack to reshape and fur started to line her body. Her mouth grew into a long snout and her ears became longer as well as pointer. Within a minute she was on all fours and a small, lanky wolf. Cassidy wagged her tail when she looked at the fish and gave a small yip of excitement before laying down with the fish in between her two front paws. When she started digging into the fish, her tail never seemed to stop wagging.

Sage chuckled and laughed, watching as she shifted. He wasn't sure what he had expected, though nothing really...surprised him, he supposed. He couldn't stop grinning as he watched her eat...she was acting like a cute puppy dog and not at all like a wolf. It was cute, though, he had to giver her that. Well, cuter than she was in her human form at least...he supposed she was cute either way. Although as a human, pretty probably suited her better. He started to eat his own fish, and got most of the way through it before he got full. He wasn't used to eating a bunch, and he'd had a solid meal (ish) yesterday night. He would eat the rest later.

Cassidy munched on the bones even, the sound of the bones crunching between her jaws filled the air around them. All that was left was the head and she picked it up and tossed it in the fire that way the smell wouldn't attract any unwanted predators. Cassidy laid down in front of the fire and she started to lick her paws to clean the smell of the fish off of her as well as the crumbs from the bones. Her eyes were closed but one ear was pointed in the direction of Sage to listen to him if he spoke or something.

Sage smiled at the wolf girl's actions...she really was adorable curled up in front of the fire like that, resting. He wasn't going to talk or disturb her at all...it was like waking up an actual puppy. He lay down next to her, not using her as a pillow but just laying there next to the warm fire with her. He was pretty much dry by now, though the nights got a bit chilly because of the water. They should try to find some blankets or something to keep in the cave...it would be nice.
