The woman couldn't help her little grin before nodding her head. "Make up a little scavenger hunt or something for a picnic. Have them find certain good on a list and see who can get it all first," she chirped with a grin, really liking the idea of it all. It meant they could get a gauge of where everything was, too, while having a little bit of fun with it. She sort of cocked her head at him after a moment before shaking her head. "Sage, I think you've forgotten the state you were in when you first came up to the castle," she murmured, gently bumping his side. She knew he liked providing for himself, and the family actually... but he wasn't in good shape out there and he knew it. "You can still go hunting if you'd like. If you wanted to be hunter I'm sure my brothers would love chasing you down," she mused lightly to him. "Well, I suppose it makes life easier now doesn't it?" She asked happily.

Sage had nodded happily, a grin forming on his face as she mentioned the idea. "It would be fun I think, especially once Liz gets a little bit older and the kids can really compete with it," he chirped lightly. Though, he wrinkled his nose in amusement when she mentioned the state he was in, as she put it. "That was because I was being tortured in a jail cell somewhere and then dragged along across the country back here by Anya," he chuckled. "And the time before that I was shot, then hit in the same spot, and then tied up and tossed in a closet for two weeks," he added with a sort of chuckle. "Before that I might have been a bit unhealthy but I wasn't that bad," he noted, eyes glittering with amusement. Though, when she mentioned hunting, he cocked his head slightly. "That's true....were up against woods. I guess I just never thought of it," he hummed before laughing when she said her brothers would chase him. "I'm sure they would. Imagine all the kinds of trouble we could get into out there," he laughed, moving to tug Mari towards the restaurant they would be eating at.

The woman looked over at him with a bit of a grin. "I think they'd love it. A bit of a game with a nice meal at the end!" She chirped. She sort of rolled her eyes when he started trying to defend his time out in the streets. He'd really not been in a good way. She sort of shook her head and gently bumped his side. "I think you're trying to glorify it! I saw how you were treated... I also saw you father get killed though, while you were covered in blood, and I also had to help calm you down after walking past the tavern. There's nothing in this world that will ever convince me you actually had a good life out here," she mused, following him along when he tugged her towards the restaurant.

Sage had nodded happily in response to her comments, rather excited about the idea. "Next time you go to the market we can try it out," he chirped, chuckling lightly as they moved into the restaurant and took a seat. "It wasn't the best place in the world, but it was my home for...a long time, and it had its good parts," he murmured with a shrug. Then he wrinkled his nose when she mentioned his father, nodding as he sat down next to her. "I could have done without him," he noted lightly. "But at least I know what I don't want to become," he hummed , glancing at the list of food on the menu.

The woman nodded to him, then gave a small chuckle. "I like that idea," she chirped lightly to him. The kids would like it too. Something to do other than running around together. They'd learn a bit from it too, which would be good,. She sort of cocked her head at him, her brow wrinkling a little bit. "I suppose if you live out there long enough you find the good bits," she eventually huffed, then gently bumped his side. "If it means anything to you, you're nothing like him," she hummed, taking a menu and sort of glancing over it. "You're a lovely father and an incredible husband, so you're not at all like him," she chirped before ordering when the waitress came up to them.

Sage had sort of just hummed lightly in response to her comment, nodding in agreement about the kids, then chuckled softly when she admitted there could be some good bits from the streets. "For starters, I didn't have to take a shower every single night," He teased her lightly, really not minding the showers, especially when she washed his hair, as she'd been doing for a while now if they got a chance and it made sense. Though, he gave her a surprised glance in response to her next comment, honeslty not expecting her to say that. Not that he thought he was a bad fatehr or husband...he just hadn't expected her to mention it at all, he supposed. But....it did mean a lot. He still often worried about doing soemthing that would be soemthing his old man would have done. "Thanks," he murmured softly, looking back down at the menu. He really wasn't sure why he was looking it over...he always got the exact same thing...but whatever.

The woman sort of cocked her head at him and scoffed. "But you're so pretty when you're clean!" She mused lightly. "I still don't understand why you're so opposed to showering," the woman sort of chuckled as she set the menus down softly. She sort of made a face looked over at him with furrowed brows. She was worried she'd said something wrong for a moment when she just got a thanks, but soon enough they'd ordered their food and it had arrived and quickly stopped her train of thought. It was good food too... they came here every now and then, and it was always nice so she wasn't super surprised.

Sage had simply chuckled lightly in resposne to her comments, shaking his head. "Well, I suppose if I want cuddles I have to so it's not all bed either," he mused lightly. In all reality he wasn't sure why showering was just another chore to get done....but it sort of jsut was. Maybe it was because he hadn't had to for so long. Whatever. The waiter had come by by then, and he was happy to order his food after waiting for Mari to get what she wanted, as well as drinks for the two of them. Nothing dtrong, obviously, but a little something small and tasty.

Mari sort of looked over at him, her face wrinkled but a playful sort of spark dancing about in her eyes. "Hunny, we've gone over how much I love it when you're all sweaty and gross, but you're lucky if you even sit on the bed in that state, never mind cuddling up," she mused, thanking the waitress happily when they were handed their drinks, and took a sip of hers happily. "And you don't mind it when we run the bath and you get a pamper," she teased him happily. She watched him for a moment, suddenly so over come with how lucky she was to have him. Not even that - how lucky she was to still have him with her. So many times he'd been so sick, so unwell, and so many times she'd thought she'd wake up one day and he would have just... vanished. Something awful might have happened, or he'd just... left. She remembered herself being so worried he'd just leave at one point, though she couldn't see him doing that now, at the time it had been a real worry for her. So now, when things were so simple but so... safe, she couldn't be more grateful he was still there. "I'm so lucky to have you," she babbled to him with a silly grin across her face.

Sage had chuckled softly in resposne to her comment, throwing the girl an amused look as they ate. "Why do you think I don't argue much about showering every night," he hummed with a sort of laugh. Then, he gave her a wide grin in resposne to her next comment, noddign along. "That's because you enjoy it just as much as I do," he chirped lightly, moving to peck her cheek happily. He'd gone back to eating by then, though paused with a bite of his salad halfway to his mouth when Mari spoke up again, and he glanced over at her with a chuckle. "You're full of loving comments tonight," he teased her lightly. "More so than usual. Are you sure you're feeling alright," he teased, pressign his hand to her forehead with a snicker. Then, he pecked her on the head lightly before moving to pick his bite of salad up again. "I'm just as lucky to have you," he murmured softly.
