Sage chuckled lightly and nodded in response to the boys comments about the guard. "They weren't so pleased to be acquainted with me when I suggested they do more running than just sword smashing," he hummed with amusement, thinking back to when he'd burst in on the queens meeting. "oh, you should've seen your grandmother's face when I barged into her meeting and told her to her face she was being stupid," he groaned, shaking his head. When the teen moved to stroke the horse, he hummed softly. "I'd been waiting to name one of them after him," he murmured, patting the colt gently. "This one was perfect. But he's not what I need....so I figured I'd help you train him up to be your buddy," he mused. "He had the makings of a great warhorse and a great teddy bear," he added with amusement. "Just like the person Luther." He did miss the boy....more than he'd really ever let on. But it was better, somehow, naming the horse after his friend, and then letting att have him.

The boy looked at the older man with a bit of a laugh before sort of shrugging. "Yeah, she doesn't like that. Anya neither, actually," it did amuse him to hear the queen as a his grandmother. He loved the woman, and he knew she loved him too, but she wasn't his grandmother, and she could be difficult. "Well you made a difference I supposed. It's cool," he mused happily. He hoped he could be a good knight one day too. He would be, hopefully. He looked back at the colt with a grin. "It does suit him. Big old lump," he mused happily to the man. He rubbed the colts head after a moment. "You gonna be a good warhorse bud," he asked with a small grin across his face. "Just like person Luther," he grinned. He couldn't really remember the man... but he'd been good to him. He'd treated him like a son, and he'd been glad to know him at all.

Sage had chuckled when the boy mentioned Anya didn't quite like that either, and he shook his head slightly with a sigh, recalling all the events that had taken place. He wasn't sure att knew much about his past, or that he and Anya were....he still wasn't even sure what to call the year or so they'd been 'together'. "I did something," he mused, leaning against the stall door. "Almost got myself strung up to a tree in the process but anything good comes with risks," he added. Then he wrinkled his nose slightly. "don't tell Anya I told you that. She hopes you'll never have to take a risk in your life," he noted fondly. He hoped too....but risks were part of life. Asking anyone out, proposing, training for anything...there were risks there. "I'm sure he will be," he hummed. "And I'm sure you will too....Anyas certainly feeding you enough," he noted, the last part mostly a joke as he poked the you ger boy gently.

The boy sort of nodded at him. He was brave, he supposed, and he could admire him for that. However, he was close with the queen and still wouldn't say anything to her. "You did something that worked! The guards have never been stronger," the child chirped happily to him. He cocked his head at him before humming. "I won't see her much anymore anyway, so I'm not saying a word," the boy mused lightly, going back to playing with the colt. He looked over at him before shrugging softly. "I don't have to take any risks as far as she's concerned anyway," he mused. He raised his brows after a moment and gave a small chuckle. "I hope so. I hope we're the best team around," he mused as he patted the colts nose, though he quickly went back to rub his head on his haynet. He chuckled lightly. "No, she doesn't, but I do eat a lot of her left overs," he mused lightly. He ate about enough to fuel three people at the moment, and he didn't suppose it was a bad thing... it all went into his training anyway.

Sage hummed softly and shrugged. "That was a long time ago," he noted lightly, sort of just watching the horse move back to his hay. He did notice that the colt stayed close enough that att could continue to stroke him though, which was good to see. It was always a bit hard, selling the horses, especially once that meant something to him, like Luther here. But knowing they went to good homes, and seeing that they were happy with their new owners ....it made him feel better about that whole thing. "Well, I suppose not," he admitted, nodding along to atte comments. "I'm sure you two will have many adventures together," he chirped. "hopefully none of them will end as badly as some of mine," he added with a tone of slight amusement despite the serious topic. "Of course, I did tend to do that to myself," he admitted. "ah, that explains it then," he teased the boy. "Always amazes me how some people can just eat all day and look fabulous while Mari still has to threaten me with sleeping on the couch to eat three meals a day," he mused, shaking his head slightly to himself. "Speaking of Mari, sure she's waiting for me with the kids by now, so why don't we start heading back up there," he suggested, patting Luther one last time and giving the colt a grin. "You be good now, else I'll have to come back here and take away all the hay," he mused before heading back towards the castle happily.

The boy grinned over at him after a moment. "Thank you! He's awesome," Atticus chirped, patting the colt again before turning away a little. He cocked his head and gave a small laugh. "I've heard about some of your adventures. I hope a lot of them end up better than yours," the teen mused lightly. He huffed a breath out, though was clearly amused. "I want to be strong! I need to eat a lot," he mused happily. He wasn't really a prince... he'd take the throne if anything happened to Anya, but he wasn't even in line. If she had another child, that would be the one to take the throne... so he was going to be a knight. Plus, he liked the castles food. He gasped at him after a moment, though they soon got to the doctors ward, he sort of eyed Mari. "You make this man sleep on the couch when he doesn't eat?! Blasphemy," he mused lightly. . Mari was content talking to the doctor for a little while... she was admittedly worried about all of this, though didn't quite know the extent of it all. The doctor knew more than he was letting on, though, she did know that. It had been a couple of hours, though, and soon enough Sage and Atticus had come in through the door. She offered a grin at them, though soon turned into a very offended look She glanced between them before pinching her brows together. She looked over at Sage curously. "What have you been telling the kid," she asked with a pout.

Sage have the boy a grin when he noted that he hoped his adventures turned out better than his own had. "Oh, I'm sure Anyas told you some," he mused. 'im sure she didn't leave out how stupid I could be either, getting myself into all the trouble completely on my own," he added lightly, deciding it was probably a good sign he found it all amusing, or mostly amusing, now. "Well, I'm sure you'll do very well," he mused, squinting up at the sun to gauge the time. "I must say, as much as I like adventures, I'm happy to stick with the horses and my cat," he chuckled, raising his eye brows at his comment towards Mari. "I mentioned you threaded me if I don't eat," he chuckled. "Ive only been on the couch a few times, I think I do rather well," he chirped, throwing a wink atts direction and plopping down next to Mari, happily looping an arm around her as he settled in. She'd never made him sleep on the couch...there was one or two nights he'd decided to because they'd fought or something....but that was his own doing. And neither of that had any bad emotions left over that.

The boy gave a happy grin to him and a bit of a nod. "Oh, she's made it very clear you're not smart," he giggled lightly. She always managed to twist the stories a little... the woman never wanted the child to think badly of Sage, and so he didn't. He cocked his head after a moment. "I imagine life must feel so boring now, after all your adventures," he chuckled lightly to him. He gave a bit of a grin at the woman's retort, though settled down happily. He soon said his goodbyes, though was happy he'd come to visit. He certainly hoped he'd come around more often, it was nice having someone to talk to. Mari have a happy little hum, though waved the teen off with a smile before raising a brow at his comments. "You can't go round telling kids I make you sleep on the couch babe! You do that to yourself," she mused happily to him.

Sage had chuckled lightly in response to the boys comments, nodding lightly. "At some point I'll tell you what really happened in some of those stories," he noted lightly, shrugging slightly when he mentioned being bored. "Part of me is. The other part is perpetually exhausted due to the tiny gremlins living in my house," he mused fondly. Though he said bye to the boy soon enough, and grinned over at Mari happily. "Oh don't worry he knows that," he chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "I'm well aware of that fact," he grumbled, though obviously didn't really mind. It was his own fault anyway.

The woman rolled her eyes at him. "You make me sound like some kind of witch sometimes," she mused lightly, though sort of leaned into him happily. She looked over at him curiously after a moment, though. "You find anything out? Do we need to come back?" She asked after a moment... she was a bit worried. Sage had been gone a little while... so something was obviously going on. (short, I'm out!)
