Sage sort of hummed in response to his wife's comments, not really awake but doing his best to listen. If she was worried about something he wanted to be able to know what it was and how to help ...not ask her a question and then he too asleep to listen to her when she responded to him. "I hope it's not as bad as we're expecting," he noted before chuckling when she mentioned the cat. "Right, I'll keep that in mind then," he mused lightly, voice still crackly with sleep. He was waking up though, slowly. But the conversation has started his brain up a little bit, at least enough for him to follow conversation easily enough.

The woman gave a small smile to him, sort of ruffling his hair gently. He did look tired still. He didn't have to be awake just yet, and it seemed like he was struggling to be as awake as he was. She sighed and sort of nodded in agreement. "I hope so too. I'm just worried, is all," she murmured softly to him before a small chuckle escaped her. "You couldn't do that if you tried," she mused softly. She was just happy to relax for a little while. If they got to mess around, that was nice too.

Sage hummed gently in response to her comments about the castle and all, nodding slightly before snorting at her next comment. "I could too," he huffed in amusement. "You're not that heavy," he added, a lazy grin plastered on his face. He'd moved to stroke amber gently, earning happy purrs from the cat as she pressed against him. No doubt she was as happy as he was to be curled up in the warmth of the bed...It was rather amusing how similar he and Amber could be sometimes, admittedly.

The woman sort of chuckled, eventually shaking her head a little. She sort of moved to peck his lips before settling back down a little. "Sure you could," she mused sarcastically before sort of grinning over at the cat, who by now had sprawled out next to the two of them. She was getting older now she was getting cuddlier by the day. It was sweet. She sort it looked over at the man for a moment... he was covered in scars, and had definitely lived through a rough life, but when he was so relaxed he still just looked like a boy. It brought the stupidest grin to her face at the thought.

Sage sort of just gave the girl a grin in response to her mutter and kiss, humming lightly. "I guess I'll just have to prove it to you later then," he teased lightly. He had stopped stroking Amber for a moment, and when the cat nudged his hand with an annoyed meow he glanced over at her with a sort of snicker. The cat got what she wanted of course ..which was him to continue petting her....though soon enough he peered back over at Mari and noted the grin on her face. "What," he asked with a sort of laugh, rather amused at the look she was giving him.

The woman rolled her eyes at him with a sort of snicker. "You can try, I'm sure," she mused, sort of watching him and the animal interact before sort of stretching again and settling back down... they'd have to get up at some point, though she had a feeling it wouldn't make a difference right now. The kids weren't up, and they had nothing super important they needed to get to. She glanced back at him when he asked his question, and her grin just got bigger. "Nothing," she mused happily. He'd know it wasn't nothing but oh well... he knew she thought the world of him.

Sage simply chuckled lightly in response to her comment, making up his mind to sneak up on her later. It would be entertaining, for himself at least. And he wouldnt do it when she was doing something it would mess up, so she wouldn't get mad at all, so ..why not? It was rather amusing to think about, really. He snorted in response to her comment, rolling his eyes slightly before just moving to settle down next to her again happily. It really was nice to wake up slowly like this ...it didn't happen too often, so he'd take all he could get.

The girl chuckled when she watched him settle down, but sort of ruffled his hair playfully. It was always nice to see him so relaxed. The kids were similar to him in that way. They were buzzy more like her, but had a certain sharpness in their manners, which she'd only really seen in Sage. So sometimes they struggled to relax enough to sleep. Although they hadn't seen half the things that their parents had, they could be prone to nightmares and such... more Lizzie than Silas though. It was more of a monster under the bed type thing than things that could actually hurt them, though. They were good kids, so they always went off to bed and at least tried to sleep... wheather or not they relaxed or not was a different question. So, when she got to see them all relaxed even when they were asleep... it made her so happy in a way she couldn't quite explain.

Sage just gave the woman a lazy grin when she ruffled his hair, Resting his head on her shoulder lightly. He supposed it wasn't often they were all this relaxed....it was nearly a miracle the kids were still asleep, and he supposed it was almost as much of a miracle that Mari was still relaxed and in bed too.. normally she'd already have brought breakfast up to him and the kids would've already been up and going. Silas would be begging to go see the horses, and Liz would be running to show him a drawing or something she'd baked with Mari. "It's quiet with the two of them asleep," he hummed after a while. "the house isn't shaking," he added with a chuckle. Of course, they never actually shook the house, but sometimes it was pretty close. It was an amusing thought, in his opinion.

The woman chuckled softly to him before shaking her head. "I know. It's peaceful, huh?" She asked with s smile. When he moved to rest his head on her shoulder, she had to resist wrapping him up in her arms as tightly as she could. She sometimes forgot that all she wanted to do was look after him... keep him safe. That had been her only goal for such a long time, though now, she just wanted to keep him happy. Stable too, she supposed. There was a time when he couldn't relax like this with her without freaking out or having a nightmare... for a long time, too, she had to be so careful not to accidentally hurt him... hit a bruise or some other injury he'd somehow picked up.
