Sage had helped Anya work through some of the most important paperwork, and the few things they managed to get done and sent out and all was probably more than she'd gotten done in a while. Either way, he had shooed her off to bed to get a good night's sleep, promising to be back withing a day or two. He rode back soon enough, getting home around eight thirty or so and taking care of Chaos quickly before giving him an apple as a treat, which he'd taken from the fruit baskets in the kitchen, and then moved to slide inside. The lights to the kids rooms were off, so they muct be asleep....it had taken longer than he'd expected. he greeted mari quietly with a peck to the head, deciding he was very much hungry now that he smelled the food and moved to start eating happily. he did hum some form of an apology for taking so long, though. "Taught Att how to lunge and bathe Luther. It took a bit longer than expected," he chirped.

The woman hummed when Sage finally came through the door, a soft sigh of relief escaping her. She wasn't sure why'd he'd been gone so long, but she wasn't too concerned... in truth, it was nice to see him have some time away from the house. They sometimes got stuck here, and while she didn't mind it so much, it was nice to see that Sage could have a bit of a break. She grinned at his little peck, and shrugged lightly, going to eat quickly before cleaning up. "It's fine," she chirped lightly. "You two getting along well then?" She asked curiously, taking his empty plate off him and going to clear up. She'd managed to get most of the chores done a little bit ago... so they could have some time just to chill out for a bit.

Sage had nodded happily in response to her question, face lighting up when she mentioned the boy. "It's been nice to spend some time with him," he chirped. "I found Anya drunk, passed out after a few minutes," he sighed. "He said that was common about now....I don't think he's gotten much attention as of late," he added, brows furrowing slightly. It was hard, seeing Anya like that. It didn't just affect her....and she didn't understand that. "I got her to calm down a bit. Take a nap, then organize herself enough to get some stuff done instead of stare at it and drink though," he added. It was a good thing...she was accepting his help now, which he was grateful for.

Mari glanced over her shoulder at him, a little grin across her face. "He's always liked you. I'm sure he was just pleased to spend a bit of time with you... and Luther, of course. When she'd finished she sort of wondered up behind where he was sat, and resisted her head on his as she ran her hands into his shoulders in a way she hoped was relaxing. "She's never really cared out her actions affect anyone else... but the drinking isn't good," She murmured with a bit of s frown. "Take her to the doctors, he'll whip her into shape," she mused lightly. He pecked his head lightly after a moment, though. "It's nice that you're helping, you know. They might not appreciate it much now but they will later," she hummed lightly.

Sage nodded with a sort of smile when she mentioned att would be happy. "The boy had a huge grin plastered on his face the entire time," he noted happily. "I probably did too," he chuckled. "seems like yesterday he was only a baby the size of my forearm," he added softly, sort of thinking back to how happy he'd been to be able to find and save the baby. And then how terrible it was to leave him. His brows furrowed at her comments about Anya, sighing slightly. "I hope she does," he murmured. "She wasn't too happy with me there today, I don't think," he added. "She's the only person outside of the family that I have....we've been so close for so long and I can't loose her now. Especially not to the bottle," he whispered, shaking his head. He was trying not to get too emotional, but it really wasn't working very well.

Mari felt a little frown crossing her face when he just seemed to be... sad... about the whole thing. She hated seeing him like that. She gave a soft sigh before stopping her little shoulder rub and going to wrap her arms around his side. "She was probably more embarrassed than anything," she hummed softly, pecking the top of his head. "She knows how you feel about alcohol, and why you'd be upset about it too," she promised before sort of furrowing her brows in thought. "She'll thank you for it when she realises what she was doing. Take her to the doctor and get her some help," she then added. She knew how much they'd been through together, and she knew how much it would hurt Sage if anything happened because of this. She patted his shoulder gently after a second or two. "You'll be closer after all this is over and she's in a better spot," she murmured softly. A little smile crossed her face after a moment, when he mentioned Att. "I can imagine the look of both of your faces," she mused lightly. "He has to be at least what... fourteen? Fifteen?" She chuckled lightly. "It's nice to know he's doing well, though."

Sage hummed softly in response to her comments about the girl. He certainly did hope that's how it would all turn out. "I hope so," he sort of mused. "I hope it all blows over easily down in the village too," he sighed, shaking his head slightly. "I don't know if the crabby old man is what she needs," he admitted. He loved the doctor, but he and Anya weren't as close as he and sage, and he just couldn't help but think she's just getting...upset with him. Though, her mention of att brought a sort of smile back to his face. "yeah," he hummed lightly. "He seems happy....makes me know I made the right choice," he noted, just curling up against Mari happily.

Mari pecked his cheek lightly after a moment before nodding in agreement. "I'm sure it'll be fine... once the castle is more open about it. They need to stop hiding this shit," she mused softly. She was worried... she hoped that the village took it all well... though she didn't see it making a difference. If they were going to rebel, they'd do it whether the king and queen were dead or not. She frowned after a moment, though. "Well no one other than the doctor will be able to sort her out," she murmured gently. "She won't see it as you being helpful like this. She'll just see it as you trying to take something from her," she then added. "She used to be close with the old man. I'm sure he'd help the best he could," she hummed gently. She gave a little smile after a moment and pecked his head lightly. "He's got a good life, Sage. That's all because of you," she hummed softly. She patted his shoulder and gave a soft sigh. "I'm gonna get showered. We can chill out before bed, hm?" She asked softly.

Sage nodded with a huff of air in response to her question. "why can't people just treat each other right and get a long," he grumbled, though he nodded with a sigh when she mentioned the doctor again. "I know...I'll give her a few days to sort herself out, and then suggest she talk to him," he noted. "I just....he's a bit more calloused that what she needs right away." The doctor was good at his job....but he wasn't the friendliest guy around, and right then Anya just needed a gentle hand to hold while she struggled. And he was glad to help her out...she'd done it to him so many times, and for so long. "I know," he humemd when she mentioned att, nodding at her suggestion with a sort of tired sigh. "that sounds lovely," he hummed, releasing her so she could move upstairs and then wandered up himself, sort of just sliding in quick after her and then flopping down on the bed with a tired grunt, curling against her again.

The woman shrugged in response to his question... she didn't know the answer. She didn't know why they couldn't just act decent towards one another, but they couldn't... humans were often just vile creatures. She sort of shrugged when he mentioned the doctor. She wasn't sure what the girl needed, all she knew was that it needed to be fixed... and fast. She smiled gently to the man though. "Well, for now you know what she needs. Just know you're not the only one that can help, and if it goes wrong that's on her, not you," she hummed softly. They soon got showered, and eventually she flopped into bed next to him.
