Sage felt his shoulders relax slightly when the girl nodded in response to his comment about her parents. It was good that she was open to seeing them "alright," he murmured softly, giving her a grin when she agreed to the picnic. "Grab a blanket for us to sit on while I go raid the kitchen then, yeah," he mused lightly, getting up with a grunt and heading for the door. The poor cook really could never get rid of him, could they? He chuckled quietly to himself as he wandered down to the kitchens, grabbing some bit and bobs of whatever he could find. Some sandwich stuff, some fruit, and some other small things. Then he'd wandered back to Anya room, greeting her happily. "Ready," he asked, waiting for her to wander over with the blanket before heading out and down towards the spot he liked to relax in the garden. There was no sight of the castle, or really any sign of people....it was just nature. And he quite liked it, and found it relaxing, so hopefully it would do Anya some good.

The woman nodded and went to find some blankets for him. She sort of sat on the bed and waited for him to come back. She sighed when he finally asked if she was ready, and just sort of nodded and followed along a little unwillingly. She was more comfortable in her room, and the moment she stepped out she thought things were all going to crash down on her. And it felt like that for a while before she just took a small breath and it all melted away. She followed him out to the gardens, and she admittedly felt a lot more relaxed when they settled down away from the castle. She couldn't see it anymore, and she felt better. A little, at least. She sighed and moved to flop down on the blanket with a soft huff of air.

Sage noticed the girls tension sort of drain out of her body after a bit, and he chuckled softly when she flopped over, giving her a bit of a grin as he set the basket down and flopped over next to her. "Nice, isn't it," he noted, chuckling softly. "I used to come out here all the time," he murmured. "There's was always something calming about finding my own little corner of nature, where no one else could really bother me," he added lightly, just relaxing next to the girl. "maybe it'll be a nice spot that doesn't remind you of work," he noted with a chuckle.

The woman let her eyes lull shut after a moment, though opened at the sound of his voice. "Yeah," she murmured gently to the boy before giving a little smile. "I haven't been out here in a very long time," she muttered softly. "I haven't been outside in a very long time," she mused softly to the boy. A little bit of tension left her body when he flopped down next to her. "Maybe," she looked over at him when he saw him settle down. "You must not get quiet much not anymore, hm?" She asked softly.

Sage felt a soft smile drift on his face when the girl responded in a not so stressed out tone of voice. Good ...it meant this was working, at least a little bit. "You can't just work all the time," he murmured. "Take breaks, find a hobby you enjoy," he noted before laughing and shaking his head in response to her last comment. "Hell no," he mused. "Silas and Mari are both chatter boxes, Liz is constantly wanting to get picked up, they all want hugs every second of the day, and compete for my attention with the cat and the horses," he snorted fondly. He loved it all though, and she'd know that. "Believe it or not, you're my quiet at the moment," he teased her lightly, nudging her shoulder gently.

Anya sort of let her head rest back on the blanket, really just enjoying the quiet for the first time in a very long time. It was quiet in her room but... this felt better, she supposed. Where the walls couldn't close in on her anymore. She sighed and moved to gently rest her hands under her head. She glanced back over to him, a little smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "There's not many hobbies to take up here," she mused. Her smile became a little more somber when he mentioned his family, though. She was happy for him, of course, but she still couldn't get over the fact that he'd somehow managed to get it all and she hadn't. "Sounds tiresome," she hummed over to him, trying another smile at his comment.

Sage hummed lightly with a nod in response to her first comment. It was probably true...but then again, she also had a whole castle at her disposal, as well as everything in it. So she could probably come up with...something. "I suppose not," he mused. "But you have an entire kingdom at your disposal, I'm sure you can thing of something," he pointed out. he hummed happily at her comment about his family, and he nodded with a sort of shrug. "I suppose it is, at times, but it's never hard," he noted. "I dunno, I guess it's just nice knowing I'm able to keep them all safe and happy," he added after a moment. Then he huffed out a breath after a moment. "But this isn't about me and my life," he mused. "Today is about giving you something to help yourself out a bit."

The woman raised a brow after a moment before shaking her head. "I don't particularly enjoy anything. I can't just find hobby's the way you do," she hummed softly. Besides, she did have work to get done. She supposed if she could come out here every now and then it would be a nice break, though. It'd maybe get her more into a routine. She could see that getting better with time. She sighed and sort of gave a small stretch. "It's nice that you have that now," she replied with a little smile. "I don't mind hearing about it, you know. It's something normal and... it's nice to talk about," she eventually added before closing her eyes. "I can only help myself so much at this point," she added gingerly.

Sage hummed softly when she mentioned she didn't enjoy much, and huffed out a breath. "That's because you had no childhood," he snorted, really just teasing her. "yeah," he murmured softly in response to his comment, shaking his head slightly. "It still sometimes seems so odd that we have what we have," he admitted quietly. "But I'm glad we do." Though, at her last comment he nodded slightly. "Maybe not, but you can help yourself more and more with time," he noted softly.

The woman sighed after a moment and stretched out before rolling over to grab a sandwich. She wrinkled her nose when he said she'd had no childhood. "Neither did you," she pointed out to him. A little smile escaped her after a moment before shaking her head. It didn't seem like she really had a lot right then. She sighed and moved to sit on her side as she sort of watched him. "I suppose," she murmured softly after a second. "An di certainly hope so," she added with a chuckle.
