Sage sort of groaned in response to her comments, huffing out a sort of breath. "I know, I know," he sort of just mumbled, reaching up to run a tired hand I er his face in an attempt to chase the grogginess out of his eyes. He mumbled a sort of thanks after a moment too, since he did appreciate her brining him food like this most mornings. It really was nice of her. He knew she enjoyed it, but he still liked to thank her for things like this.

Mari felt a little smile across her face after a moment, and sort of rolled off him when he set her free. She shrugged when he thanked her, thinking it was maybe something he should have just expected by now. She sort of picked some food off the plate before flopping back down on the bed lazily. It wasn't super early, and yet they could afford to rest for a little while... she was still concerned about the imminent death of the king and queen, but that wasn't something she had to worry about all too much.

Sage sort of lay there for another minute or so, before deciding he was hungry enough to haul himself up, sitting up and leaning against the headboard of the bed with a sort of sigh. He nibbled at the food for a while, until he'd finished, and then set the empty plate to the side again, flopping down next to his wife with a happy hum.

The woman raised a brow at him after a moment before giving a small huff of air when he flopped down next to her again. It did amuse her. There'd been a time where he'd barely sleep at all, and when she thought about it the change was rather funny. She looked over at Sage after a moment and gave a small smile before wrapping her arms around him and squeezing him and a small but content hum.

Sage sort of gave her a fake pout in response to her huff, humming softly. "What, do you not want to cuddle," he sort of huffed, really just teasing her a little bit now that his mind was awake enough to function. He'd never outgrow teasing her ...that was much too fun to ever stop. (Sorta short I gotta run lol)

Mari groaned at his comment, rolling her eyes though it wasn't like he could see it. "You saying that makes me think you don't want to cuddle," she retorted playfully. She sort of looked up at him with furrowed brows, and moved to cup his jaw with an amused chuckle. "You don't want to cuddle?" She mused, poking her face closer to his with a fairly amused grin.

Sage tried to keep his face in a fake stern sort of vibe, though he couldn't help but let out a snicker when Mari poked her face closer to his. "You're not making much sense," he huffed, clearly just enjoying teasing her. He flopped an arm around her though, scooting in a little bit but keeping their faces close together. It was just nice to mess about a bit, he supposed. That would t ever change, he didn't think.

Mari couldn't help her grin when she heard his snicker, a little chuckle escaping when when he flopped an arm over her. "How am I not making sense," she asked with a curious chuckle. When he scooted in, she hummed and pecked his lips playfully. "You're not making sense," she teased right back, though she was very aware she was just messing around and not really making sense herself.

Sage sort of snorted in response to her comments, giving her an amused look at shaking his head. "It's too early to think that hard," he noted with a chuckle, eyes glittering. He wasn't sure why he'd woken up in such a particularly good mood ...but he certainly didn't mind. It was better than waking up and having a bad day for no reason. That happened less now than it used to...but it still happened. But that was ok...Mari and the kids helped, and right now he wasn't too worried about it.

Mari rolled her eyes at his comment, though the look on his face couldn't stop her grin. In truth, she'd confused herself a little, and trying to remember what she wanted him to think about hurt her head. She just pouted and rolled into him with an amused chuckle. It was nice when he woke up like this... he was never really grumpy or anything, but they were rarely playful like this - Sage especially not in the mornings. But it was sweet.
