Sage hummed lightly in response to Mari's comment, giving ehr a wide grin in response to her kiss. "I have plenty of time to do that," he mused lightly, more than happy to sit down and relax for a little while. Gain his energy up and back anyway a little bit. When the kids ran over for food, he busied himself handing out the little sandwiches and bottles of water, and attempting to keep them focused enough to finish at least part of a meal before running off again. He sort of just wrapped his arms around Mar happily when she flopped against him, watching the kids run about, a soft smile just lingering on his face.

The woman smiled gently before letting out a soft breath once the kids ran off again. She just sort of grinned as she watched them.. they are so happy. It made her so glad that they could go out and mess around without being worried about anything. They were so safe here. She certainly hoped it would stay that way over the next few months. She smiled when the man wrapped his arms around her, though eventually just settled down happily. The children were still running around like crazy. "Well, that just means both you and the children will sleep well tonight then," she mused.

Sage sort of chuckled when she mentioned sleeping well and nodded, an amused smile forming on his lips. "That's one of the goals here," he noted lightly, pecking the top of her head after a moment, just happy to cuddle up a little bit. It was nice out, and he always did love getting outside and messing about. Having the kids there made everything so much more...lively, too. It was certainly nice.

Mari gave a small chuckle before glancing up at him in amusement. It really was a lovely picture. She liked seeing the kids so happy... it was nice seeing Sage mess around from time to time too. He'd told her sometimes he missed being on the streets, and while she couldn't stand the thought of him leaving, she did like seeing him run around like this. Like he could do... well, whatever he wanted she supposed. She smiled and moved to peck his cheek before settling back down. It was getting a little later... she'd eventually fallen asleep on Sage's side, not for long... just until whenever Sage had woken her up again. Edited at October 29, 2024 07:51 PM by Belle

Sage sort of just rested against the tree he was leaning on, taking in the forest around him and keeping a lazy eye on the kids. Make sure no one died, really, that was the extent of his job. He glanced over at Mari to notice her fast asleep, and chuckled softly before letting her rest for a while, until the kids eventually wore themselves out and started to slow down. The sun would start to set soon anyway, so he called them over and handed them towels before humming makes name gently to wake her. "It's time to head home," he mused softly once he noticed her eyes open, glad she'd gotten time to rest and relax so well. He'd stayed out as long as possible, but now it was time to head home.

Mari admittedly slept exceptionally well... it was warm, and the cool breeze paired with Sages comfort made rest particularly easy. Still, she slept until Sage woke her, when she gave a light smile and sat up slowly as she tried to wake up a little more. She helped him tidy up, not before making the kids wrap themselves up in a towel... she'd have to make sure they got showered when they got in the house. Soon they were on the way back, though she ended up carrying Liz most of the way. They got in the house with good time, though. She ordered the kids to go and get showered, then pointed Sage to the showers too. "Go get all that lake water off you," she mused. She put everything away while they were all getting ready for bed.

Sage helped clean up, and chuckled softly when Liz asked for Mari to carry her, taking the baskets and all so the woman could grab their daughter and carry her the rest of the way home. Once they were there, he set everything food wise in the kitchen, and tossed the blankets in their basket in the living room. At Maris comment, he sort of just grunted and nodded, wandering upstairs to grab a change of clothes and then slide into the shower.

Mari cleared up all their things happily before wandering ups stairs to make sure the kids had at least cleaned themselves up. She went and got them all biscuits and a glass of milk while they settle down, and once they were all comfortable in bed she wandered into their own room with a soft huff of air. Things seemed so... peaceful. Too peaceful, really, especially in comparison to just a few years back. She flopped down in bed once she'd gotten changed, spreawled out against the whole thing while she waited for her husband.

Sage showered quickly, honeslty wearing down now that he wasn't out and about. So, by the time he turned the water off and dried off and got dressed, he was practically nodding off already. He wandered over to their bed, grinning at Mari when he noticed she was there already. "Scootch over," he sort of huffed lightly, flopping down once shed scooted to the side a little bit and curling in next to her with a happy grunt. He was still so amazed that he'd wound up with a family like this. With a house like this, and being able to support them well. He was certainly glad of it. He could just...drift off while he was tired. He didn't have to worry about a robber or anything. He could just enjoy himself.

Mari groaned when the man told her to move, though just flopped onto her side while he settled, then just spread out again across the bed. She was sort of curled into him... not really. She managed to settle down after a while, though, slipping off to sleep comfortably. They had nothing to worry about. It was almost... creepy how easy things seemed. Like a calm right before a storm. She woke up the next morning fairly late, though the children were still in bed... Sage was still next to her, and Amber was curled up at their feed. She supposed they'd be alright for a little while. .
