Mari glanced up at him after a moment, sort of letting a hand run softly down his chest. Her touch was light, like she was scared if she pressed down too hard he'd pull away. When he finally came back down against her, she couldn't help the soft hum of relief, and all she could really comprehend doing was leaning up to press her chest and abdomen against him, really just craving any amount of friction his skin gave her. She didn't know what he was planning, but suddenly she just really wanted... well, him. She couldn't help her grin, and soon moved to press a soft kiss to his lips, inviting him to do... well, anything she supposed. He had her, all of her, and all she wanted right then was for him to do something about it.

Sage caught her grin, a soft chuckle passing his lips softly as he settled back down over the girl. He hadn't really figured out what he was going to do yet...but he moved to kiss her back, fingers running lightly over her skin. They continued that way for a while, before things had moved forward a bit and they'd worn themselves out. He'd rolled off of her by then, wrapping around her and attempting to catch his breath, a grin lingering on his face.

the woman gave a small hum to Sage, though found herself moving to press her lips back to his again after a moment. They'd stopped now, and it was morning so they should get up at some point... but she had really just been overwhelmed by him. She wasn't sure why. Nothing particularly different had happened. Mari felt a little grin cross her face when they eventually settled down, soon slipping off to sleep. It was still early morning... though, admittedly, something didn't feel right. She soon woke up and put her robe on before padding over to the window, as if expecting something to be... wrong. She huffed out a breath and padded downstairs, glancing out the door and picking up the newspaper, quickly scanning it. Nothing. A soft breath soon escaped her, and went to go make some tea for both her and Sage. She placed the mugs on the side table before hopping on the bed with a small huff of air.

Sage had kissed the girl back, just snuggling in happily after a bit, though soon enough passing out. He was tired ....they'd had their fun of course, but now they should get sleep. The kids would be up at some point soon, and things needed to get done. He stirred when she flopped onto the bed the next morning, stirring with a sort of tired groan. "You're up already," he he sort of groaned, stretching slightly before settling back down. "Sometimes I don't think you're human," he added with a soft huff of air.

The woman almost jumped when she heard his voice, although rolled her eyes and moved to pat the top of his head softly. "You didn't tire me out enough," she teased softly, a bit of a playful purr in her voice. They did have things to do, she supposed... although, she wasn't massively concerned about it. She looked at him after a moment, her lip curled slightly. "Well, I know you're human... just look at the state of you," she hummed softly. He just looked so tired... so peaceful. She huffed out a breath, still agitated by something... although she didn't know what. She sort of moved to trace his face gently before going to peck his cheek. "You can go back to sleep. We have time," she hummed gently.

Sage couldn't help the tired chuckle that escaped his lips in response to Maris comments, lips curling upwards in amusement despite still being half asleep. "Seemed like I did last night," he noted lightly, patting her leg in a sort of teasing manner. Though, he snorted softly at her next comments, shaking his head happily. "The longer I know you, the more convinced I am you're some sort of guardian angel," he mused. It was mostly in play, though there was a bit of seriousness behind it all. Though, when she said he could go back to sleep he sort of grinned at her. "Don't have to say that twice," he mused lightly, sort of drifting off again despite their conversation.

Mari groaned softly to him, shaking her head slightly, a soft pout across her face. "Nope. Sage I didn't get very surprised, either," she complained, although it was all in play. He still looked so tired... she felt a smile pull at the edges of her mouth, and sort of peppered some light kisses around his face in a playful manner. "The longer I know you, the more convinced I am that I married a crazy man," she teased softly. It wasn't a complete lie, either... although, he wasn't crazy at all. Maybe a little. He definatlely had been when they first met, but he'd become a little more somber as time went on. She was a little surpried to find he'd just conked out again, but felt a little chuckle escape her as she moved to press a light few kisses to his nose, just sort of watching him. He was so peaceful... he still lost years when he slept, and she didn't think she'd ever stop being enthrawled by it all. He really was just perfect.

Sage sort of groaned with a soft chuckle in response to her comment, shaking his head slightly, though not enough to pull away from her kisses. "Well based off the noises you were making I did just fine," he teased lightly, really just mesianga round. He was plenty loud enough himself, so he really couldn't tease her too much. "You probably did," he noted lightly, though if she responded he didn't hear her, since he'd drifted off by then, no matter how hard he attempted to stay awake to continue their conversation.

Mari felt an amused hum escape her at his comment, and sort of moved to press a light a light kiss to his nose. "Well Sage, you know better than anyone how crude it is to speak to a lady like that," she teased, though her voice had dropped considering Sage looked about ready to fall asleep. He really did look just so... innocent when he was asleep like that. She smiled and moved to peck his lips before crawling out of bed to get ready.
Throughout the day, she had a niggling feeling in her stomach, one she just couldn't shake no matter how hard she tried. She felt a soft breath escape her when someone knocked on the door, and when she went to open the door she was handed a letter by a rather smartly dressed man. The letter had the crowns suit of arms on it, and she felt a soft breath escape her as she opened it. Hee face dropped, and all she could think to do was run outside, where Sage was tending to the horses. He was only filling up waters, and that could wait... this was a little more important. She just sort of grabbed his arm and pulled him inside, going to hide in their room do the kids couldn't hear them. "Sage," she breathed, holding the note up to him. "The king is dead," she said simply, although she held much more worry in her than her expression was letting on.

Sage had slept for another hour or so before he woke and realized he'd fallen back to sleep. He chuckled to himself, moving to haul himself out of bed and sip at the tea that was still warm on the bedside table, no doubt thanks to Mari. Once the tea was gone and he was ready, he headed out to the barn, munching on an apple as he went and then tossing the core to chaos, as normal. When Mari came in and grabbed him, he knew something was wrong or something important had happened, so he let her tug him inside. "Mari, what in the world-" he sort of started, clearly bewildered, though his words trailed off when she spoke up. He scanned the letter quickly, letting out a grunt. "They did say he was worse for wear than the queen," he noted with a shrug. "The queens still alive....not kuchll happen until she goes too," he added. "That's when I'll be worried about Anya. She never did like the old man," he added, setting the letter down. Maybe it was a bit crude, a bit cold....but he didn't like the man. He could care less he'd finally croaked. He'd had it coming for a while. He did care about Anya ...so when her mom died he'd check in, of course he would. This guy? No one cared.
