Mari fell asleep pretty much as soon as they got to bed, a small, deflating breath escaping her after a moment. She was exhausted... she wasn't sure why. Se was exhausted, emotional and just... terrified. Nothing bad would happen for a little while, at least. She felt bad for worrying Sage, or that he had to hold her for something as little as this. He thought nothing of this, she knew that. But she couldn't help but be worried about it all. She woke up sort of early the next day, though rather than getting up she just settled herself down against the pillows with a soft breath of air.

Sage fell asleep well after Mari, sort of just waiting and making sure she was asleep and comfortable. That she wasn't having any nightmares or anything. Once he was satisfied, he let himself slip off to sleep. He'd be tired the next morning, but that was ok. He didn't care about that as much as he cared about Mari. When she woke, he sort of stirred and blinked over at her, humming a soft good morning. "Feeling better," he sort of croaked out, still definitely out of it.

Mari sot of just sat there, feeling a pit in her stomach still but she didn't want to wake Sage. He looked so... tired. When he heard him speak, she glanced down and ran a hand through his hair softly. "Yeah," she whispered, her voice still soft. She felt so delicate, and it was definately a strange feeling. She sighed softly aftter a moment, settling back down quietly. "Thank you, Sage," she muttered gently. She wasn't sure if he'd managed to sleep much. She hoped so.

Sage gave Mark a tired grin when he felt her run her hand through his hair, nodding slightly when she said she was feeling better. "Good," he sort of noted, eyes already drifting shut again. He forced them back open though, not wanting to just...conk out on her again. He nodded when she thanked him, humming softly. "Didn't do very much," he sort of mumbled, scooting over to rest his head against her leg in an attempt to stay awake and keep talking to her.

The woman shook her head slightly. He'd done more than he maybe should have done. It meant a lot to her. It was nice. He never did anything wrong to her, and she'd never had anything like this happen to her. It was scary, and he'd heard. "You helped," she whispered softly, letting him curl around her leg happily. She gently wrapped an arm back around him, closing her eyes and flopping her head back on the headboard. "Go back to sleep, if you're tired," she whispered softly to him.

Sage let out a sort of hum in response to her first comment, just snuggling in happily despite knowing he'd probably pass out once he got comfortable. At her next comment though, he snorted, huffing out a slurred " 'm ok," to her, only to have his eyes close a few seconds later and go limp against her again. That certainly hadn't been part of the plan...but at least he knew Mari was alright. She would definitely tease him about this later on though. He didn't really mind, of course, but it was amusing all the same. But he really was tired...so he supposed staying there a while longer would be nice. The horses could wait while he slept enough to be fincional that day.

Mari stayed in bed while Sage slept, knowing she'd probably have to get up at some point. She didn't want to. She was so embarrassed about that hat happened that she couldn't force herself to do much more now. She sighed and settled back down, a hand running softly though his hair. She was lucky to have him, she knew that. She wondered why he was so tired though. She hoped he hadn't been up because of her for too long.

Sage stayed there for another few hours before stirring again. He was still a bit tired, but felt quite a bit better than before. He'd be able to get up and get the horses taken care of and all that fine now. Noticing Mari was still there, he sort of blinked up at her and gave her a grin. He just settled down against her, content to wake up a little bit slower. If she was still there with him, then she wanted to be. That was more than ok with him.

Mari glanced down when the man gave her a grin, and patted his head softly. "Go see to the horses babe," she humnded gently. She knew he probably wanted to sleep in... but it was better to get things done now. Or, she thought so at least. "I'll make breakfast," she hummed softly. (verrryyyy short I'm on the run)

(same here xD) Sage groaned when Mari told him to get up, but knew she was probably right. "I know," he sort of half-heartedly grumbled, stretching and then moving to sort of haul himself up with a yawn and running a hand down his face to rub his eyes. "If you need anything just yell. Or come get me," he added softly, pressing a quick kiss to her head before moving to get ready and then head out to the barns
