Sage sort of watched the kids run off with a chuckle, then moved to help Mari clean up a bit, shaking his head in response to her comment. "Not really," he mused. He'd visited the castle and such yesterday, and the horses were taken care of, so there wasn't really anything more that needed to happen. "I'll work on some art later, but nothing specific," he added with a shrug, sort of plopping down on the couch once the dishes were done.

Mari nodded slowly before looking over at him with a little chuckle. "So, this is it? Our lives are over?" She mused, wandering over to plop down next to him on the couch. It wasn't often that they really didn't have much to get done. Whatever, it gave her a good few hours to get a good dinner on she supposed.

Sage chuckled softly and nodded his head, grin twitching at his lips. "Yup," he mused lightly. "I have no work to do so therefore the world must be ending," he added with a snicker, sort of wrapping his arms around her loosely when she flopped down next to him. It was amusing really....but it was nice to have an afternoon where no work needed to be done. He'd work on some art at some point, yes, but nothing specific had to be done by tonight. And that was certainly nice.

Mari hummed as his arms wrapped around her, and sort of flopped her head down on his shoulder. "That's right. If we're not careful, the world may implode on us," she chuckled lightly. It would be nice just to have a bit of time to rest, though... she thought so, anyway. They could just rest for a bit. She leaned up to peck his cheek lightly. "How boring have things gotten?" She chuckled, thinking back to when they'd first met. Things had been so... exciting. Scary, at the time, but when she looked back on it all, it was thrilling.

Sage chuckled slightly with a sort of nod in response to her comment, though when she brought up how boring it all was he sort of cocked his head in thought. "I do miss the streets, in some ways," he mused softly. "Things were just .. different out there." Part of him still longed to get out there and crawl around, get into a fight, feel the adrenaline make his body feel so much more alive. "But this isn't boring, per say," he added with a soft chuckle. "And I wouldn't trade it for the world." He quite liked the fact that death wasn't constantly peering over his shoulder. That was sort of nice.

Mari nodded in agreement. She missed being up in the castle. She missed always having something important on her mind - really important things. Helping the guards and the doctor, and the Queen, too. She missed all of it, and while she loved Sage and the kids, none of it was... exciting. Hell, she got excited to go out food shopping now, if that said anything. Sure, going to work had lessened her cabin feaver, but she still felt bored. Sometimes, not all the time. "I miss hearing about you and Anya running around from the other maids," she chuckled, giving him a bit of a look. It was different, not better, not at all, but different all the same. She grinned up at him after a moment, and leaned in to peck his cheek. "No, no, I wouldn't trade this for anything," she mused lightly.

Sage snickered softly when she brought up messing around with the maids. "She was never the type to go mess around much," he mused. "Though I think the fact that we hid our relationship for years was pretty impressive," he added with a shrug, knowing Mari didn't mind him bringing it up. She knew he wasn't going to go back to Anya or anything like that. "That was Luther. We had a a good time, running around, stealing food from the kitchen, scaring the queen," he hummed fondly, alibet a slightly sad undertone to his voice. He did miss Luther, even now. He grinned at her comment about their family though, nodding along. "We have our own fun together," he added with a chuckle.

Mari glanced up at him after a moment, and nodded very much in agreement. "I think her sneaking around was messing about," she mused. Yeah, the woman had always been... up tight. At least a little bit. She still didn't know they'd managed to get together - she understood their friendship, but she never really understood why they wanted to hold onto a relationship they couldn't ever hold onto. A little grin crossed her facem as he mentioned Luther. She didn't know the old man well, but she always took great pleasure in watching the mig man lug himself around. "He must have been your only normal friend like... ever," she snickered. She huffed out a breath at his next comment. Yeah, they had their own fun, even if said fun was nowhere near as exciting as it had been. "I suppose," she mused sort of pecking his cheek. "We need to go do something as a family at some point," she huffed.

Sage cocked his head in thought before nodding. "I suppose that would cont," he admitted after a moment or so. "Though apparently all of the maids knew she was sneaking out and never told anyone," he added with a sort of chuckle. He felt a small smile form on his face as she mentioned Luther though, nodding slowly. "He was good to have," he murmured softly. Sure, he'd gotten mad and all that, but he'd apologized for it. They'd made up. He was just thankful for that. They'd had a brief time together before he'd been killed. "I do miss him," he added, sort of lounging back into the cushions. Of course, when she mentioned doing something as a family, he perked up a bit, nodding along. "We could go on a family vacation," he suggested. "Maybe to a beach, like we did before." They'd think on it.

Mari felt a little smile cross her face slightly, and nodded in amusement. "We all knew. I think the queen knew too, or else she wouldn't have been out there," she added thoughtfully. It still amused her... she didn't have a clue why they all just let it happen. She sighed softly after a moment, sort of looking over at her husband. "I can imagine. We need to get you some more friends," she whispered softly to him. It seemed rather isolated here... and of course they loved eachother, but it could be very lonely if you didn't know how to use your time right. She cocked her head when he said they should take the kids to the beach and gave a gentle nod, sort of wrapping her arms around his side. "That'd be nice," she murmured gently.
